KILLIAN HAD SLOWED THE SHIP as they approached the island. Naomi, who leaned against the railing right of the helm, frowned and looked to him. "Why are we slowing down?"

Regina turned around on him. "In case you didn't know, my son's life is in danger!" She exclaimed angrily.

"I know, my hotheaded queen," Killian muttered. He pointed to the left side of the isle. "The plan is to go to the far side, link up with the widest part of the river, and surprise him."

Naomi arched an eyebrow. "That won't work. He knows everything about this island and what goes on. You can't surprise him," she explained.

"Who's side are you on?" Regina demanded. Killian sent her a look as to say Calm the bloody hell down

"I'm on whichever side gets that kid back!" Naomi remarked harshly. "I'm stating simply facts. That plan will not work. All you'll do is waste time."

Killian said nothing, just sailed on. Regina absently watched the waters pass. Naomi placed a hand on the helm. "The irony..." she muttered.

Regina glanced over. "What?"

Killian chuckled quietly and looked up at the starry sky. "What she means is that I spent more than a lifetime trying to escape this island to get revenge on Rumpelstiltskin. Now he's the guest of honor on my ship as I sail back into Neverland's clutches. Not the sort of happy ending I was looking for," he explained. Naomi nodded.

Regina pursed her lips. "Greg Mendel told me something funny. He said I was a villain, and that villain's don't get happy endings. Do you believe that?" She asked.

"I sure hope not," Killian answered as the ship steered left. "We'd have wasted our lives."

Regina sighed, looked down, and walked away. "Nice talk," Naomi muttered as she brought out her knife. She leaned back against the railing once more an carelessly flipped it through her fingers. It was a miracle how perfectly balanced the entire thing was.

How was she possibly planning on going back to Pan? She had to go back, but also wouldn't want to betray the Charmings. They had already done so much for her. She just wouldn't be able to bring herself to do it. She had never been that sort of a monster.

Well, maybe. Maybe, if circumstances required it, Naomi would be able to betray that family in order to save someone. Surely they would understand. But as her fingers slid over the cool silver metal of the blade, she doubted any such occurrences would ever arise.
