AS IT TURNS OUT, leaving the loft was easier said than done. Naomi found herself spending dinnertime and later at the loft. She was finding it harder and harder to grow up and leave.
The move seemed to be hardest on Mary Margaret. She was constantly talking about how different the apartment felt without a sarcastic teenager to ruffle everyone's feathers. After what had happened with Cora, Mary Margaret was the one asking Naomi to join them for dinner or come by for morning coffee.
During the few weekends since Neal's arrival from New York, when Henry wasn't with his father he was with Naomi. During these times, they made sure to spend as little time possible in her studio.
Today, he was with Neal.
Emma was out late helping David and Mary Margaret with the bean plantation. Naomi stuck around the loft to make sure no witch came around and cursed it. She heard a knock at the door, left her book, and answered.
Neal stood with an unconscious Henry slung over his shoulder, his legs held onto by one hand. He held two wooden swords in the other hand. Naomi's eyes widened. "Did you tranquilize him?" She asked. She opened the door wider for him. He took Henry to the couch as Naomi grabbed a blanket.
"We spent most of the day in the park. He's pretty good with these wooden swords," Neal reported. He lay Henry down on the couch before Naomi placed a blanket over him. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised, though," he chuckled, "considering where his family's from."
Naomi brushed a bit of hair out of Henry's face. "They want to go back," she told him. Neal frowned.
"Who? Where?"
"Everyone. They want to go back there," she explained. She sat at the dinner table. "Has no one told you about the magic beans? They've been growing for weeks now."
Neal joined her at the table. "What do you think?" He asked her.
Naomi sighed and crossed her arms. "I don't know! At first it sounded good, but then I remembered everything bad happening. Very, very few good things happened for me in the Enchanted Forest. I'm torn."
Neal leaned forward against the wooden table. "Maybe that could be your second chance at a happy life," he told her. She shrugged and glanced back at the sleeping Henry.
