I looked at the machine, amazed. Was this really working? Where should I go first? Suddenly I remembered: earlier, i thought of Death Note. I should give it a try. I always liked Mello's character and  Matt's aswell. I should try with those. I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen and my purse. I wrote a fake letter and put it in an enveloppe with my whole economies. If the travel shall not affect my life, then all the money I spend there will be back when I come back in the real life.

Is this really working? I just thought to myself."There's only one way to be sure." I said and started scribbeling the following informations on the notebook with the small pen:

Destination: Death Note, episode 27, a few minutes before mello leaves the orphanage, in front of wammy's house.

Character: Shinshini Uribuka, 13 years old, looks like me but is skinnier, is lost and abandonned.

Objects: an envelope

At (time)

Then, when I was done, the little screen went on automatically and a little button appeared on it. I pushed it, squeezing my envelope so hard in my fist that it almost hurt. I closed my eyes, and, the second after I touched the screen, I felt a soft breeze caressing my cheeks. Was it an illusion? Was this really happening? I carefully opened my eyes and looked at the place I landed in. I was in front of a stone building that was pretty familiar to me: Wammy's house, The prestigious orphanage.

It was like a dream. I couldn't believe that this was actually happening. Suddenly, I heard a hubbub consisted of several children's voices coming from inside. Then, the door opened on the fly and a young boy with medium blonde hair came out, pulling another boy by the arm with flaming red hair wearing a striped sweater and holding a videogame in his hand. They were the two persons I've been waiting for: Mello and Matt.

Now I only had to hope that they would talk to me. If not, I just had to hope to join Near's team and try to find them by doing research. But honestly I didn't want to join Near, he's annoying me.

"Hey. What are you doing around here?" I heard a voice asking me. I looked at the face of my interlocutor. It was Matt. Oof.

"Uh well I uh... I just got abandonned by my parents and uh.. yeah.. They told me to come here.. Am I at the wammy's house orphanage?"I stuttered. It was working better than I thought.

Mello and Matt exchanged a gaze.

"Don't" Mello said.

"What?"

"You heard what I said. Don't go to this hell." he repeated.

"Mello is right you won't be happy here. This orphanage is the worst place to go to. It's made to form intelligent people so they can become the successors of great detectives. If you're not good enough, they treat you like a piece of shit. If you're intelligent enough they don't let you any other choice than becoming a prodigious detective. It's not a place to grow up at correctly, believe me." Matt explained.

"B-but.. I have no place to go!" I said. This was working perfectly, too perfectly.

The noise from the orphanage intensified, and Mello gave it a worried look. They had to hurry up if they didn't want to get caught.

"come with us" Mello said. "Yes, we'll take care of you." Matt added.

I felt hot blood gushing onto my cheeks.

"But..."

"There's no 'but' just come." Mello cut me off.

"I don't have no money!" I protested

"We'll help you to get some." Matt said.

"You don't even know me, what if it turns out i'm a little plague and you hate me?"

"We'll make you stop being a plague, and if you're still a plague we'll give you to a better orphanage but you won't go to wammy's house, you don't deserve to be treated like that!" Matt said.

"No one does, not even the worst child in this world." Mello added.

"Come with us and we'll do everything to make you our equal." Matt finished.

"Your... your equal?"

Matt and Mello both nodded with a smile. I looked back to the floor, not knowing what to say anymore.

"Of course you're not forced to come with us. You'll need lots of courage to live out there with us, it's not gonna be easy everyday, I prefer to warn you" Mello said.

I thought for a moment, and then I finally said, "Fine. I'm coming with you. Now matter how risky it is, I want to be free."

Matt and Mello smiled.

"By the way, what's your name?" Matt asked me.

"Just call me Amori." I said, no idea why.

Before he was able to answer, the door of the orphanage opened and a man came out, looking kinda angry.

"Shit! That's not good! " Mello said, in panic.

"RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!" Matt screamed.

Then, they both took my wrists and ran away. I ran as fast as I could, pulled by the two laughing boys, followed by a furious man trying to catch us. I was so happy that I broke out in laughter. This couldn't be any better.
