Alexander POV
The wind was blowing through my fur as I ran, as fast as I could. There was no time for beating around the bush.
My house appeared and the dead bodies that were scattered around it were like a big slap in my face. For the first time in my life, I was consumed by the feeling of fear. Fear that they have been taken, fear for pushing my mate away, fear for Lily being hurt, fear... The Ripper, fearing? being afraid? that is not who I am.
My house was a mess, everything was covered in blood as the furniture was broken, scattered and then I rushed upstairs. I did not bother shifting back to human form, I knew this is not going to end now. I had work to do.
The large steel door was open and I knew.... they have been taken. Immediately my fear was replaced by red-hot anger.
William, Cole, and Bella came rushing into the house, they were much slower than I was so it took some time to realize what was happening.
"Goddess, NO," Bella screamed as Cole cached her when she fell.
I picked up Lily's sent...
"Alexander, what? Where are you going" Cole mind linked me. "Lily is here somewhere. I smell her." I said, shifting back to my human form.
"Search every inch of this house. I'll be back now." I said rushing to my bedroom to put on some shorts.
"I found her," William screamed. "Kitchen."
Lily was safely wrapped in her blanket with her bear. Somehow Monica broke the backboard of the cupboard, placed Lily inside, and sealed it back together, the cupboard in which Lily was hidden had in spices that were thrown out of their containers, I guess she tried to hide her scent.
"How did you find her?" I asked William.
"She started to cry when Bella talked to Cole. She must have recognized her voice."
I bent down and took Lily from the cupboard. She was a wreck, once she saw me she let go of her bear and reached out both her arms. "Mama," she cried grabbing hold of my neck.
"Well start cleaning the house and get everything back to normal here." Bella offered. Now Bella may seem weak to some, but she is great value and asset to this pack. She loves Lily and has spent months trying to get Lily close to her. She is one of the few people I trust.
"Bella, leave it for tomorrow. Everyone should rest. I'll stay the night with Lily in our room at the Pack House." I said.
"What the actual fuck." William said looking at me like I am crazy.
"What?" I spat out.
"You are going to leave it. Just let them take her?" I said nothing as he was going off, Goddess he is like a piece of silver in my arm. "I knew you were ruthless Alexander! I would just never thought you would leave her to fend for herself, even after SHE is the one who made sure Lily was not taken and stayed unharmed."
