Jasmine POV

I do not have a good class. I was hoping for a class with Josephine or with Tanner. But no, I can't get anything I want. I had manners first period, math second, history third and now I am going to Gym. You may think I don't want to go but Gym is my favorite. You may have forgotten but I am a sports prodigy, one of the only things that make me and Josephine different. Before breakfast this morning I got up extra early and went looking for the gym. I tried to get into the closet with all the stuff but it was locked so I just ran a few laps before going back up to shower.

Now I am going to the Gym for an actual class. When I get to the gym I see someone wave to me, she has nice bronze skin, with black hair that shines so perfectly. I honestly wish I had her clear smooth skin. I wave back and start walking towards her, I give her my nicest smile. "Hey, I'm Jasmine." I offer.

"I know. I'm Zara." She replies.

I furrow my brow, "How'd you know?"

She chuckles, "You're all anyone can talk about, 'the two hot Blacks'. "

Oh. I nod, "So why are we waiting here?" I change the subject.

"After the bell rings Coach takes attendance then we go and dress out."

We wait here for a minute before the bell rings I wait for the Coach to call my name so I can say here. There are a ton of people in this one gym class so when my name is called I barely pay attention.

"Jasmine?" Someone calls out, "Jasmine Normandy?"

I raise my hand, "Here." The coach nods before continuing. But now I can hear whispers.

"Normandy? Isn't that-."

"Shut up! She's right there!"

I sigh, this is exactly what I didn't want, know that they know they're probably going to look at me differently. At our last schools everyone only wanted to befriend me because I was less intimidating then Josephine and we were rich.

"Okay now that we finished with that, go and dress out then come out. You have five minutes or I am counting you late."

I do not want to be late so I rush to the locker rooms with my clothes in hand, I dress out as quick as I can then look for Zara. She's already done and waiting at the door. She looks at me and raises her eyebrows.

"Are the shorts too short?" I didn't have time to try them on before I came here, "I know they're small but I'll have to get new ones later."

We start walking, "All the boys will be looking at you,"

"Well I don't like any of them."

Zara steps in front of me with a look of incredibility on her face, "That is a total lie."

I laugh, "No it's true."

She goes back to my side and after a moment asks, "So you already got a crush?"

I sigh, "How'd you know?"

"Everyone here is hot. I decided to like every boy so then if one of them likes me I can say I also like them."

"You know Zara," I smile - a real smile, "I think we are going to be great friends."

She laughs, but the sound of Coaches whistle silences it.

"Line up! We are going to give a warm welcome to Jasmine and play a game," Everybody cheers-not for me-because of me.

"Pick your teams because we're playing... Capture The Flag!" Coach picks two boys to be team captains and they start choosing only boys.

Sexist much.

When they don't start picking girls I get really mad and decide to speak, "Why aren't you picking any girls?" I ask the captain.

The blond one smirks, "Because boys are faster than girls and you need to be fast in this game."

"Me and my sister ran from the cops for a mile until they caught us. They had cars and we were on foot." I cock my head to the side, "If boys are so much better than us how about a boys vs girls game."

Coach thinks for a second before shaking his head, "No, I can't-."

"I wasn't asking you," I say staring into his eyes, challenging him to talk back.

He takes a step back surrendering. I smile and walk towards the field with all the girls trailing behind me.
