Chapter 23: it will all be painfully clear soon enough

Ava had foolishly thought that when everyone got their memories of her back that things would go back to the way they had been before she had jumped into the Malivore pit and erased herself from existence, however things didn't exactly work out that for her since the only person who was surprisedly happy that she was back was Lizzie Saltzman who had never been that happy about her existence in the first place. Over the last few days due to the separation from everyone, Ava had time to think about things and the way they currently were as she decided to go back to her original plan to leave Mystic Falls and head to her hometown of New Orleans. She had planned to slip away without anyone knowing including her twin brother but it seemed like her mother had a different plan as she informed her son of Ava's plan causing him to walk into her room as she packed. Ava was wearing a white T-shirt with red writing that was tucked into her red patterned skirt which had a large slit up the side and a pair of white sneakers as well as had her oversized denim jacket nearby. Her long blonde hair was twisted into a two low space buns with two sections of her hair framing her face, she also wore a dark almost dull red lipstick to go with her peach eye makeup.

" here's me thinking that we did the running away together" Wyatt said leaning against their bedroom door inside the Mikaelson mansion as he startled her into stopping her packing for now

" Wyatt.... I was going to tell you" Ava said as she scrambled to come up with some kind of excuse as why she was trying to sneak away like a thief in the middle of the night like this

" no, you weren't" Wyatt said knowing her better than that as he rolled up the sleeves of his red jacket that he wore with a grey Salvatore T-shirt underneath and a pair of jeans as well as white converse

" no, I wasn't but what do you want to do? I can't stay here" Ava said as she sat on her bed as she  placed the brown leather weekend bag that she had been packing onto the floor so she could sit

" why? Because everyone remembers you and isn't reacting the way you thought they would?" Wyatt said knowing he was being a little unkind as he wondered why she was taking the easy way out

" because I'm not wanted here and I've had a lifetime of feeling unwanted. So this time instead of sticking around, I'm leaving" Ava said thinking about their time at the Salvatore school so far

" does this have anything to do with Landon and the fact that he's still hasn't spoken to you about it all?" Wyatt said as he joined her on the bed by sitting next to her as he worried about how she was coping

" kind of, I knew that he'd be mad at me for doing it because I'd be the same if it was reversed but I figured he'd get it once he calmed down" Ava said wondering why he still hadn't talked to her

" Maybe he will, I guess it's a lot since you were the first girl he loved and now there's Josie and he doesn't know what to do" Wyatt said thinking about his own conversation with Landon about Ava

" what if he's realised that he can have more with her, that he loves her more than me, that I'm just too complicated for him?" Ava said thinking about all the thoughts that's been running through her head

" what are you talking about?" Wyatt said wishing that Landon had spoken to her when he remembered her so that she hadn't had all of this time to think things to the point of overthinking

" Landon spent an entire summer with Josie, no monsters or the constant threat of death. Just two people falling in like some movie montage instead of a horror movie" Ava said thinking about it

" and you think he'd choose that over what you two?" Wyatt said trying to follow her line of thinking as he wondered where she was going with all of this as he moved to get a better look at her
