When I woke up, I groaned. My teeth were still aching, and Aydon wasn't here to distract me, and I don't have anything to do today. I went downstairs in my pyjamas, and sat at the kitchen counter. Gabe was making breakfast, and Xavier was reading a book on the couch.
"Morning Ari!" Said Xavier. "Morning." I said, grumpily. "What's wrong Ari?" He asked me, putting his book down. "My teeth freaking hurt." I whined. "I know sweetie, it'll get better in a few days." He said, hugging me. "Let's eat some breakfast, eh?" Said Xavier. "I don't want to." I said.
Xavier sighed. "Ari, you gotta eat. Gabe made pancakes, nice and easy for you to eat, okay?" I nodded. I sat down at the table, and Gabe brought over a plate with pancakes on it.
I grabbed one, and cut it up into small pieces, and started eating slowly.Soon enough, I finished eating and I went upstairs to my room, and started watching Netflix on my laptop. I was watching an episode of The Office, and Xavier came up to my room. He knocked on my door, and opened it. "What's the point of knocking on my door if you're just going to open it anyways?" I asked him.
Xavier shrugged, and smirked. "I don't know" He said. "Have you brushed your teeth yet?" He asked me.
I groaned, and he smiled. "Come on Ari, go brush your teeth." He said to me. "But I don't wanna." I whined. "It hurts." "I know it does Ari, but you gotta keep your teeth clean, otherwise you'll get cavities, and we don't want that." Said my brother.
I groaned, and went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. After I went back to my room, and continued to watch The Office until lunch.Around lunch time, someone knocked on my door. "What?" I yelled. Gabe opened the door, and stuck us head into my room. "Lunch time Ari." He said, and I nodded, following him downstairs. Xavier made noodles for all of us, and we ate lunch silently. "We're going to do something together after lunch Ari." Said Xavier. "Like what? Not going to your office right?" I asked, suspiciously. Xavier laughed. "I was thinking maybe go see a movie or something, but if you want to go to the office, we can." He said with a smirk on his face. "No!" I exclaimed, and both Xavier and Gabe laughed.
"But actually Ari, I've been meaning to talk to you about this. You want to get over your fear, right?" He asked me. I nodded. "Well, I was thinking, maybe every day or so, me or Gabe could give you a mini check up, just to get you used to it." He said. "What? No! That sounds like a terrible idea!" I shouted. "Ari calm down. It's probably not what you are thinking." Said my brother. "Then what are you thinking?" I asked him nervously.
"Everyday, we can go down to the home office at first. Eventually we could start doing them at our office. So everyday, we'll work on getting comfortable in the chair. Me or Gabe will just take a quick look with a mirror and an explorer, and that's it." He said. "That's it?" I asked. "Nothing else?"
"Nope. Well, if we find a cavity or something, we'll fix it, but other than that, no." Said Gabe. "I dunno." I said. "Please Ari. Imagine, if you get over this fear, how much it'll help you in your life." Said Xavier. "I guess we can try..." I said hesitantly. "Great." Said Xavier, smiling. "Let's go!"
"What? Now?" I said. Xavier nodded. "It's only take about 5 minutes." He said. "Alright." I replied. We walked to the home office, and Xavier gestured for me to sit down in the chair.
I shakily sat down, and my brother reclined the chair back slowly. "Just think about if we get a dog, what are we going to name it, Ari." Said Xavier. "What's the cutest name you can think of?" I started thinking, and Xavier tapped my lips with his mirror. "Time to open, Ari." He said to me.
I took a deep breath, and opened my mouth a tiny bit, squeezing my eyes shut. "You're doing good Ari, open just a little more." Said my brother, trying to keep me calm. When I didn't open my mouth anymore, he gently eased it open a bit more with his mirror. "I'm just going to look now Ari." Said Xavier.
I could feel him tapping my teeth with his tool, and I felt no pain. Soon he was done, and he sat up the chair. "That wasn't so bad was it?" Xavier asked me. I shrugged. "Now we can go see a movie. What movie do you want to see?" He asked me. "I don't know, just not horror." I shuddered, and Xavier chuckled. "Alright then." He said.
We all went to the movie theatre, and Xavier picked the movie. It was some action movie, which I found boring. After the movie, we came back home, and ordered take out for dinner. After dinner, I watched Netflix, and fell asleep.
