Isabelle's POV
I winced in pain as Brienne pressed a wet cloth against my stomach. She looked extremely displeased with me, at least I think so. Maybe she's worrying about the King. He had been extremely wounded by a boar they were hunting and his injury was gruesome. As terrible as it was to say or even think, there was no way he would survive.
"Stop moving." Brienne said sternly as she wrapped a bandage around the sore area, I had a medium sized gash due to the fact that I had fallen on a sharp branch and it had cut through the thin vest I had been wearing. There was also some bruising but I actually wasn't really that bothered, my main concern was Cersei...She was about to lose her husband. The man she loved. That must be such an awful feeling. "Silly girl." Brienne muttered under her breath, but I heard her.
"I'm sorry?" I asked, causing her to freeze, she clearly wasn't expecting me to hear.
"I called you a silly girl." She replied, not looking me in the eyes as she finished wrapping the bandage around me securely.
"And why am I a silly girl?"
"Instead of doing what you were meant to be doing, you went swanning off with Cersei and because of that, you lost concentration and fell off the horse you were riding, which by the way I haven't finished teaching you how to do properly."
"First of all, my duty was to escort the Starks which I did do and also protect them, Sansa was with Prince Joffrey, Ned was with the King, Arya was Lord knows where because she's Arya, she does what she wants and goes were she pleases, the greatest of knights would lose track of her, second of all, Cersei asked me to accompany her and third of all, riding a horse isn't that hard and there's no need for you to teach me such a thing."
Brienne took a step back and let out a deep sigh. "Do not take that tone with me." She warned. "You speak to me with respect, do you understand me? You weren't raised to be disrespectful now were you?"
"No. I'm sorry." I said as I slowly sat down.
Brienne nodded her head and relaxed her body. "Now, if a horse is so easy to ride then how come you fell off?" She said with a hint of a smile.
"Cersei was going to fall so I protected the Queen. Better I fall than her, correct?"
Brienne's smile turned into a frown and she looked down. "Don't do this, not with Cersei please. You will only get yourself into trouble."
"What are you talking about?" I asked completely lost.
"I know what you are like. You see a pretty girl and you want her. You're a little flirt, which I don't mind. You're allowed happiness, it's not forbidden for you, but it is for Cersei. Don't get too close, you will just be playing with fire and you will get burned."
I couldn't help what happened next, I burst out into laughter, I honestly had never laughed so much in my life. "Me flirt with Cersei? Are you mad? She's old enough to be my Mother." Even though I laughed, I did feel something happen to my heart, it was like it had dropped.
"Since we got here, you have spent more time with her than your supposed best friend. So pardon me for assuming you had feeling for the Queen."
"I don't have feelings for C-"
The door opened and in walked Sansa, with the best thing she could possibly have in her hand.
"Oh." She said staring right at me, her eyes glancing down to my chest.
I looked down and saw that she had a full view of my breasts. I grabbed the vest beside me, that I had been wearing earlier and with Brienne's helped I slipped it on. Sansa then walked towards me and handed me the sword.
"Joffrey said he found it by the stables."
"I'm sure he did." I replied gently running my hand down the blade. "Thank you for returning it." I said looking up at her. "How's his highness doing?"
"I'm not sure, Joffrey hasn't left his side so I've been on my own for a while. What about you?"
"I'm fine. I've had worse."
"I'll leave you two alone." Brienne said before walking out of the room and closing the door behind her, leaving Sansa and I by ourselves.
"Do you by any chance have the sheath for the sword too?"
Sansa shook her head and I sighed, leaning the sword against the bedpost. I was unsure on what to say to Sansa, it was weird. I was excited to see her, spend time with her but now we were alone, I didn't know what to say to her.
Neither did Sansa as she just looked around the room. I just stared at her, truly taking in how she looked. She really had grown into young beautiful woman. Her eyes were beautiful. She had the perfect figure. Her hair was longer than it was the last time I had been with her all those years ago. I could feel knots forming in my stomach as I continued to stare. My eyes began to sting, signalling I was about to have my eyes fill up with tears. But why?
I quickly looked away as Sansa turned her head and looked at me, I looked back and saw she had a smile on her face. "What? Why were you staring at me?"
"Just...Noticing how much you've changed from when we were children."
Sansa walked towards me and sat next to me on the bed, I turned so I could look at her more comfortably.
"Well, look here." She pointed to her cheek. "I have a small scar here from when Arya whacked me with a twig."
"Why would she do such a thing?" I asked trying not to laugh.
"I told her that girls couldn't play boy games or grow up to be knights...How wrong was I hmm?" She laughed.
I chuckled lightly and moved closer so I could see the scar, without thinking I gently cupped Sansa's face and turned it to the side, trying to get a better look. "Your first battle scar was given to you by your little sister, how cute."
"Oh do be quiet." She replied turning her head to look at me. She had a smile on her face and so did I, but a strange feeling overcame me as we just remained in that position, so close together, my hands gently cupping her face. I could feel her warm breath on me, I didn't know what was happening but I just knew I had the strong urge to...Well, kiss her.
"Isabelle." She said, her voice coming out in a small whisper.
"Hm?"
Her eyes glanced down to my lips and she slowly began to lean in and just as our lips were about to touch, the door burst open and in walked Joffrey, Cersei, Jaime and Ned.
Sansa and I jumped apart, my eyes landing on Cersei, tears streaming down her face.
Ned walked forward, kneeling in front of us, taking us both by the hand. "The king is dead."
Sansa gasped and I looked up at Cersei who was being comforted by Jaime, my heart hurt for her. I looked at Joffrey and he didn't even seem to care. No emotions, no tears, just a blank expression, maybe he was trying to process it.
"Excuse me." Cersei said as she broke free from Jaime's arms. I stood up, wincing as I did so due to my stomach hurting.
I looked at Jaime who nodded his head but he didn't look pleased as I went after his sister but she was grieving, she had just lost her husband, the man she loved. Losing someone like that, grieving, it makes you do stupid things and I had to make sure that she wouldn't do something stupid...
