Amelia-
As I walked on the usual path home, I was in a really good mood today.Everyone at school praised me for how I designed the festival layout for the upcoming event. I took a deep breath and sighed, at least the workload is over, I'm relieved. I smiled as I started walking faster with small jumps in between, almost skipping. My hair fluttered in the air as I brushed it past my left ear.

I couldn't help but notice how lively everyone was today, it's always like this during this time of the year when my school helps to host a massive festival where everyone in the town is invited.

The sights at the festival were always my favorite growing up, the lights, the food, what's there not to like? I'd always go with my older brother Tom and my little sister Elise, with dad- mom didn't like how loud these festivals were, she was always the classy type I guess. All those memories came flooding back, such wholesome memories that I'll forever cherish in my heart.

I kept skipping until I got to the street where my house was at and decided to visit the bakery nearby first. I hadn't seen Mrs Adler for weeks now, plus I miss her baked goods and heavenly cakes. I was so busy designing the layout for the festival that I couldn't visit, my mouth was starting to water at the thought of eating at her bakery again.

Swiftly, I opened the heavy glass door and walked in. I looked around and said delightfully 'Hey is Mrs Alder in today?'

'She's not here at the moment, but please have a look around.'After a long pause I saw that the bakery was empty, until I looked back at the counter, where the sweets were. Someone was moving around, organizing the cake display, so I approached the counter. He stood up, it was Luke, Mrs Alders son. I forgot he worked at his mother's bakery! I raised my eyebrows in surprise.

He glanced at me and let me tell you, he is such a hot guy, all the girls around the block check out the bakery just to see if he's around. I've also had the biggest crush on him for the longest time, but he only works here on rare occasions. So it's a bit weird for him to work here right after school, when he usually goes out with his friends, around this time of the day.

I could feel my face start to flush, so I put my hands on my cheeks to hide them 'h-hey Luke' I gushed

'Oh Amelia, my mother keeps on talking about how she misses your conversations together and how you don't visit the bakery anymore-' he grinned trying to hold back a laugh. 'She wouldn't stop, even dad told her to go visit your house if she misses you so much' he chucked.

I smiled, 'I miss her too, I came today to visit her actually, and maybe grab a snack before heading home. I was really busy these past few weeks with school' I said.

'She left on some business trip today, all of a sudden and asked me to run the bakery straight after school, to be honest I'm exhausted. If you'd like to see her come back tomorrow she'll probably be here' he replied.

'It's alright, I'll make sure to come visit, but for now can I have a chocolate cake?' I asked. He nodded and looked down, opening the glass display and taking out a bag. His messy auburn hair lowering to his forehead just above his brows, he looked dreamy in the bakery's uniform I couldn't help but to stare.

'When you come back tomorrow after you meet up with mom is it alright if...' he paused 'is it alright if you go out with me, to the new restaurant in town?' My heart started to beat really fast, that it made me a little dizzy. 'All my other friends are busy at the moment' he concluded. Of course that's what he meant, I'm so stupid I thought to my self.

'Sure! I'd love to.' I exclaimed. He looked up and smiled deeply, his dimples showing and his ocean eyes squinting slightly. I blushed. He handed me the small bag with the chocolate cake and I handed over the money.

'No no, it's on the house today Amelia, it's a gift from me' he reassured.

'That's so sweet, thank you' I replied, I don't know if I can handle anymore of this cuteness, I though to myself, he's too damn adorable.

We exchanged goodbyes and I waved my hand as I left the bakery, this day couldn't get any better. I strolled to my house singing the lyrics to my favorite song.

When I finally arrived, I opened the metal gate carefully, making sure the cake was upright. Then I headed to the front door and opened it. It was awfully quiet today wasn't it? Considering that the festival was coming up, I'm sure that everyone would be preparing for it, I wonder where the others are. I went to the living room, looking around for my family when I saw boxes stacked up over each other. Who was packing up our furniture, I glared at the state of the room.

'Amelia, sweetie' I heard my mother call out behind me, I looked back.

'Listen, I packed up all your things- Tom and Elise have already packed up and they helped me finish up around the house. Your father found a very high paying job in America, so we decided to move there, isn't that exiting? She exclaimed.

'W-what are you talking about mom' I stuttered.

'Like I said sweetie, we're moving to America, the moving company is coming soon so please get changed, we're heading to the airport in an hour. Oh and the furniture won't make it there in time, so we'll be staying at your aunt Eleanor's house for the time being.' She smiled and paraded upstairs, flailing her arms around.

I dropped the cake onto the ground, my mind unable to process what just happened. I stood there in shock, what about my date tomorrow?! If I could even call it that.
