Chapter 1

Far, far away in a magical land called Mewni, lived two princesses, Star butterfly and y/n Pendragon. Star loves to go on crazy adventures with her best friend y/n. While y/n tends to be less reckless and more responsible than star, they both can be pretty crazy. The two friends spend their time together fighting hand to hand with monsters, exploring other dimensions, and going on many adventures.

y/n's parents, King and Queen Pendragon, and Star's parents, King and Queen Butterfly, have always been very close. The Butterfly's and the Pendragon's were the first two kingdom's in Mewni to agree to a peace treaty and the two kingdoms have been allies and friends ever since, while becoming allies with other kingdoms along the way.

Star and y/n were born on the same day. Which was today! It was the two girls 14th birthday!

According to tradition in both the kingdoms, on a princess's 14th birthday, the Queen shall pass down the greatest family heirloom, which holds the source of magic. The Butterfly's will pass down the Royal Magic Wand to Star, and the Pendragon's will pass down the Royal Magic Necklace to y/n.

~ Present Time ~

Y/N POV

"Y/N, WAKE UP!" I hear someone yell while shaking my body. "WAKE UP, WAKE UP, WAKE UUUUPPP!" They continue.

I open my eyes to see my best friend, Star Butterfly.

"Jeez, I'm wake." I say groggily.

"Y/N, it's our 14th birthday!" Star exclaims.

"Yep, today's the big day." I reply, as I sit up to face her.

"Get up, I need to do something before the ceremony." She says with a huge grin on her face.

"What exactly do you need to do that requires me to wake up so early?" I ask.

"Well, I want to ride in on a unicorn." She says as she is bouncing up and down.

"Seriously?" I say, not surprised.

"Yes seriously. I want something cool to ride to the ceremony on. Sooo, let's go tame a wild unicorn!" She exclaims.

"Gosh Star, we're going to go find and tame a wild unicorn before the ceremony?" I ask as I'm thinking about how crazy her plan is, like usual.

"Yes. That is exactly what we are going to do. Now, get ready and go wake up Blare!" She says.

"Alright. Fine." I say, giving into her plan.

"Yay! Meet me outside the Butterfly castle when you're ready." She explains.

"Okay, sounds good." I say as I get up from bed and walk towards my closest to get the dress I will wear to the ceremony today.

"See you soon! And hurry!" Star yells as she runs out of my room and down the stairs.

I put on the red dress that has been chosen for me to wear at the ceremony and examine myself in the mirror. I then quickly curl my hair and put on a bit of makeup. Then I grab the heels I was going to wear today and walk out of my room. I walk down the stairs and walk to the front door. I push the large wooden doors open and step outside. I walk along the stone path leading to the back of the castle to where our dragons sleep. I walk through the large opening of the structure. As I quietly walk through the building, I see that my dragon, Blare, is not there. But I know where she might be.

I walk away from the sleeping dragons and enter a small forest near by. I soon reach a small river where I see my dragon staring into the water. (See image of dragon at the top)
