Those were probably the longest twenty-four hours of (Y/n) life. She just had to sit around, waiting for the day to pass, but eventually, the time came, and she left the house early to avoid her parents; so really this was like any other morning of her life. She kept her glasses on and her head held low, she couldn't risk J.D. seeing her and blowing her cover this early. When she arrived at the school, it was starting to get busy. All she had to do was wait for J.D. to arrive and follow him to determine where this was all going to take place. As she stood by the lockers, not her own because that would be too obvious, she watched the doors swing open and closed as she waited for J.D. At this moment in time, (Y/n) was a dead girl walking. Then, someone tapped her on the shoulder and made her jump out of her skin. It was Miss Fleming. "(Y/n)! Jason Dean told me that you committed suicide."
"Is he here yet?" (Y/n) asked, ignoring her statement.
"Yeah, he's just heading towards the gymnasium. I don't know why though as the assembly isn't for another twenty minutes yet."
"Shit." (Y/n) said, as she ran past Miss Fleming towards the gymnasium, pushing past everyone that she saw. Many people were pissed that she had just pushed past them and told them to move but she didn't have time to stop and apologise like she would have done previously; no, this was a matter of life or dead. Literally. (Y/n) burst through the doors of the gymnasium to find the place empty. She looked around but J.D. was nowhere to be seen. 'He has to be here' (Y/n) said to herself as she continued to look for a way that J.D. could have left without her noticing and that's when she noticed it. The boiler room. If the gymnasium was the room that J.D. had planted the bomb, then the boiler room is where he would certainly be, putting the final touches to his plan. She ran across the floor and towards the door. She pulled it open and ran downstairs but before she reached the bottom, she saw J.D standing there.
"Can I see your hall pass?" (Y/n) asked she stood in front of him. He looked up and smiled, relief flooded his face at the fact that (Y/n) was alive and standing in front of him once more. "The noose was too loose." He stated, smiling. "Thank god." He went towards her in order to pull her into his arms, but she stepped away. "Don't come near me." She told him. "If you came here to stop this, you shouldn't have bothered." He told her. "You really think that you can end this?" He asked, pulling out a gun and cocking it. (Y/n)'s anger took over and she found herself launching at J.D. and the pair of them fell to the floor. They were now inside the boiler room. The gun that J.D. had been holding had flown across the floor. Desperate to reach it before J.D. did, (Y/n) started to crawl across the floor to get it, but as she looked up, she saw one of the supposedly many explosives before she was suddenly dragged back by J.D. He flipped her over and lay on top of her. "God, you are beautiful." He told her as his lips crashed onto hers in an attempt to prevent her from escaping. "No!" She shouted and kicked him before throwing him off. She jumped and grabbed the gun, before pointing it at J.D. "Stay where you are." She warned him. "I'll kill you! I'll fucking kill you!"
J.D. started laughing. (Y/n) moved the gun and aimed just behind J.D. and shot. His eyes widened as he looked behind him in shock and back at (Y/n). To the side of them, the bomb was beeping, and footsteps were getting louder and more frequent above them. The assembly was about to begin. "How do I stop it?" (Y/n) asked, signalling towards the bomb, but J.D. just laughed. "You really want to clean the slate much as I do?" He asked. "You want to why I've done what I've done?" He said, through tears and anger.
"Why?" (Y/n) asked in desperation. She wanted to know, and she wanted to understand. She wanted to help him because she wanted to be with him. "Because no-one loves me." He admitted wiping his eyes. "No-one does not till you came into my life and for the first time, someone looked at me, and spoke to me, like I matter. Like I had a chance at life." He stopped and looked at (Y/n), studying her reaction to the words that were coming out of his mouth. "I'd also dreamed of killing off the popular people in school, but they were just dreams. I never expected them to be reality. Then you-"
"I what?!"
"You were perfect. You were everything I wanted, and it made me so mad to see the way that these people treated you. To see the way it made you feel, now that really pissed me off, even if it was from across the cafeteria for months on end." He stopped again and remained silent, trying to get him breath and calm his anger. The bomb was still beeping away and there wasn't much time left. "I just wanted everyone to get along. The popular cliques and the outcasts but again, that's another ridiculous dream! The only place that these different social types can genuinely get along is in heaven. That's why I'm doing this. Let's wipe the slate clean, start again; you and me."
"I want that, more than anything, I do J.D. but-"
"But what?" He asked, disappointment in his voice.
"How do I turn it off?"
"The red button." (Y/n) looked to see three red buttons. "Seriously, people, us included, will look at the ashes of Westerburg and say, 'There's a school that self-destructed, not because society didn't care, but because that school was society!'" He smiled, flashing his teeth. (Y/n) looked at him and felt her heart break inside her chest. "You can't be saved." She sobbed.
"Maybe you're right." Immediately agreeing and his face changed completely. He turned towards the bomb, looked at (Y/n) before he completely deactivated it. (Y/N) let out a sigh of relief. "I've really fucked up with you, haven't I?"
"Yes." (Y/n) admitted. "but it doesn't change how I feel about you."
"It should." J.D. told her.
"I know that." She replied, looking down at her feet as J.D. took the bomb down and shut it down completely. "I'm a fucking idiot." He said, crying, as he packed all of his stuff back into his bag. "Can we get out of here?" She asked, as J.D. had her back to her as he crouched over his bag. After a few moments, he stood up and took her hand. "Yeah, absolutely." He said as she wiped away a tear that was on his face. They left the boiler room and headed down to the corridor towards the entrance of the school. They stood on the steps together.
J.D. looked back at the school. "No one else hear deserves to die." He stated as he looked at (Y/n). "Except for me." He headed down to the steps until he reached the bottom. (Y/n) watched him every step of the way. "There's just one more thing left to do." J.D said as he stood in front of (Y/n). He opened his jacket to expose the bomb that he had strapped to his chest. "Oh My God, J.D." (Y/n) said, as she tried to get close to him, but he stopped her.
"Please, (Y/n) don't come near me." Holding up his hand. "Please stand back." He watched as (Y/n) obeyed his request and took a few steps away from him. "A little further." He said, until she was safely back onto the concrete steps. "I don't know what this thing will do. The last thing that I want is to hurt you even more than I already have." He told her. "I hope you'll miss me." He added, smiling through tears.
"Please J.D.!" (Y/n) begged, tears streaming down her face. "J.D.! You don't have to do this. We can sort this together." She said, holding her hands out towards him, desperate for him to take them. "You don't get it do you, (Y/n)?" He said, ignoring her hands and instead lighting a cigarette and placing it between his lips. He inhaled, before exhaling and making direct eye contact with (Y/n) again. "There is no fixing any of this, what's done is done." He gave a small smile as he took another puff of his cigarette and flicked it onto the ground. "The Dinosaurs choked on the dust, and so must I."
"No. Please." (Y/n) sobbed. "I love you." It hit her that this was the first time she had verbally expressed her true feelings for J.D. In this moment, she didn't care what he had done, but she wasn't willing to watch him leave her right in front of his eyes.
"I love you too baby." He told her. "Our Love is God." His lips curved into a smirk once more before it was followed by a loud noise, Bang, and a cloud of smoke. When the smoke cleared, J.D. was gone and (Y/n) was left alone, shouting and sobbing on the steps.

(Y/n) stood in front of the mirror in her bedroom and she was getting ready for another day at Westerburg. It had been a few months since J.D. had taken his own life right in front of her eyes and it haunted her every night. Every day. She was meant to be hers; they were meant to be together. She was forced to attend counselling sessions, but they didn't really seem to work, nothing can take away that pain of losing the person that meant the most to her. She was trying to have a positive outlook on life and live it the way that J.D. would have wanted her too. "I know life can be beautiful." She said to herself in the mirror. "We can change. We can beautiful. Life can be beautiful. Today will be beautiful." She said, looking at the picture of her and J.D. "Our love is God."
