The seniors started the tree today, we have three days to have it finished. And everything is going wrong! Turns out all the small little ball things had broke in storage, so clorissa and some other students had to go get new decorations for the tree. And I'm here with Alex and Ruth's group to set up the base of the tree. Which is a lot harder than I though. Alex and me were the tallest so we decided to do the top together, I was terrified. I thought I was going to fall and die! But thank goodness I didn't. Now I'm sitting by the coke machine fanning myself. The tree is so tall, and not only that we have so many things left to do. Three days to get the lights set up, decorations hung up, and place fake snow on it, then the star which is the hardest part of all. I held my head, this is so frustrating. I watched at Ruth talked to her friends laughing. What connection do they have to my mission? I don't believe it's just a one person situation, they are hiding something very important. Suddenly a juice was in my lap. I looked up to find Alex.
"You look tired."
"You have no idea." I lofted the drink up and opened it sipping it.
"Why do you hate people?" I asked him. He sat infront of me.
"They are cruel. They use people, hurt them, take advantage of them and toss them away when they are done with them. I got tired of being hurt all the the time, so I just stopped getting close to people." He had a dull expression. Are people really like this? Are they really this cruel?
"You should be yourself though Alex. Even if your mean and hateful, don't hide it. Because it's who you are."

"I don't think you understand, being myself isn't an option. I will be expelled from the school and shipped out of the country if I dont do what my father wants."

"Expelled?"

"He will make it so I can never come back to this school. He rules my life, he has the ability to ruin my life, send me onto the street if he wanted." We are more in common than you think Alex. I sighed and looked down. Clorissa ran into the room with the other students holding boxes of items. Thank goodness they are back. Now the hard part begins.

"Scarlett, some chick is waiting outside for you. Said it was about your mother." One of the guys said. My eyes went wide and I ran out the school to find Crone in a heavy jacket and black scarf.

"What's wrong with mother? Is she okay?!" Crone approached me quietly and touched my shoulder.

"It's alright, she asked me to give this to you." She held up a small necklace, it had a golden chain, and on it was a white dove.

"She said to tell you these exact words. The bird, it will show you the light in the darkness. Starting from today things will being going downhill. It will be terrifying, but know that I will always love you and part of me is with you. I placed a spell that connects my soul to this necklace. So be careful with it okay? If it breaks I'll lose a small part of my power, but the power will be transfered to you. " I touched the necklace. What exactly is going on? How does she know something is going to happen.

"Is something happening back at home?" I asked.

"No, things are the same. But.."

"But what?"

"You're father, he's become very...angry. He's killed many villagers because of frustration. And soldiers. Not only that he hasnt been home, he's been leaving to earth, ALOT." I froze in place and clenched the necklace in my hand.

"alright, thank you. Go home in the warmth." I nodded at her and went back inside. Father is doing something on earth? But he hasn't spoken to me that much. what is he doing? Is this mission really worrying him this much? Why?

"scarlett? What's that?" I looked up at Crow and shook my head trying to remeber where I was.

"Oh um, my mother gave me this as a present." I opened my hand showing him the necklace.
