Cain stood watching the SCP's escape into the wild, he smiled and stood in silence next to Able for about a minute until Able broke the silence with a haunting question, honestly he didn't know why he hadn't thought about this sooner, the question that would make Cain regret this decision for rest of his immortal life was "Where is Iris?" It was a simple question really but it had both brothers practically tearing apart the now ruined facility. They looked high and low, Cain had just about given up his search when the sound of metal hitting metal rang through the silent facility, he raced to the sound only to find Able shoulders shaking with silent sobs. Cain gently approached his brother not quite understanding what could make Able of all people cry. Then he saw her, and all at once he understood but at the same time he didn't, he knew a mobile task force squad had been dispatched but he thought they were shooting at other SCP's and maybe they were, all that mattered was what he saw before him.
What he saw before was Able silently sobbing as he held Iris, blood soaked her once pale blue shirt, right where her heart would have been. Cain couldn't comprehend what was happening just yesterday Iris was laughing and making jokes, now she lay dead in his brother's arms. Cain felt his head spinning and his legs felt weak as if they couldn't carry his weight anymore, he collapsed but was quickly caught by Able, and for the first time in god knows how long,
Cain cried.
