Chapter 5: Duets

Rachel POV

"Rachel stop staring at Finn and Quinn it has been weeks since your party. And I don't even know who you like more." Noah whispers to me while I watch Finn and Quinn drape over eachother.

"Quinn obviously." I say a little to loudly. Quinn spins her head and looks at me.

"What treasure trail?" Quinn snaps.

"Nothing." I say and look at my feet.

"Thats what I thought stubbles." Quinn faces Finn.

"Be nice." Finn says and she rolls her eyes. Noah laughs.

"You know I'm over Lauren Zizes its your turn to get over Quinn Fabray." Noah says quietly. I lean over to him.

"Noah I am not going to stop I know she likes me I just need a ploy." I say as Mr. Schue enters the choir room.

"Alright so we are going to be doing duets this week." Mr. Schue says excitedly and claps his hands together.

"I pick Rachel." Noah raises his hand up in the air.

"Yes I think that is a very good idea." I nod my head at Noah.

"Actually Puck" Mr. Schue puts a hat on the piano. "We are going to draw names from this hat. Maybe you will get Rachel you'll never know." Mr. Schue smiles and shakes the hat.

"I wish you could be my partner." Noah leans over to me and whispers.

"Same. I really love how our voices combine." I say.

"Alright who's first?" Mr. Schue asks and looks over all of us. Noah gets up and steps down to the piano. Noah puts his hand in the hat and fishes around for a bit. He pulls out a slip of paper and opens it slowly.

"Zizes, nice. I always wanted to sing with you." Noah says and comes and sits next to me. "Sorry Rach." He gives me a sympathy smile.

"Its cool." I say and smile. So far Santana is with Brittany, Sam is with Mercedes, Tina and Artie. That leaves Quinn, Finn, Mike and I. Quinn kisses Finn on the cheek and walks down to pick from the hat. She sticks her hand in the hat and smiles at Finn. She pulls out the paper and frowns.

"Can I repick." Quinn snaps at Mr. Schue.

"No Quinn the hat has spoken, who did you get?" Mr. Schue ponders.

"Stubbles." Quinn fake vomits and sits back down.

"What, no." I say.

"Well its too late girls. That leaves Finn and Mike as partners. Thats different, one can dance and the other doesn't know his left from his rights." Mr. Schue laughs and the rest of the class stays quiet.

"Alright Mike." Finn high fives Mike.

"Well you got your ploy." Noah whispers in my ear.

"Yeah I guess your right." I shift in my seat, finally I have an excuse to spend time with that beautiful Quinn Fabray. 
    Quinn walks out of the choir room after glee club. I run down to catch up with her.

"Okay Quinn so I have a few ideas for our duet maybe a ballad or..."

"Actually Rachel I have an idea but we can discuss it in glee club tomorrow." Quinn says and walks off.

"Um okay bye." I say and watch Quinn walk away. 

    

     At home I get a text from an unknown number.

Met me in the auditorium after school for glee practice so we can practice our duet.
