New York was cold most of the time and there was a lot of cloudy days. But despite the rain, the thought of what would happen today thrilled you.
Your boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet, actor, had been away, filming for a few months, so you hadn't seen him during that time, spending your days reading in your room. Your heart beat fast in your chest as you readied yourself and slipped out the door and down to your car. You would see him again.
His place was only five minutes from yours, but the ride felt all too long. He would be there, he would be the same, you would be in his arms again.
When you arrived, he was at the front door of his house, hands behind his back. You were quick to park, not caring whether you got a ticket or not. Your excitement was too much to handle. Any time away from Timothée was much too long. You opened your door, practically slamming it behind you as you bolted up his driveway, meeting him halfway.
His arms wrapped around you and instantly, the mist that fell from the sky didn't exist and you were warm, dry. You hugged him back, of course, sighing a heavy sigh of longing.
He kissed the top of your head firmly, then your forehead, your nose, then finally your lips, hands moving to hug you around the waist as your arms wrapped around his neck. Over half a year without kissing him was over and it was almost heaven to know that.
He tasted like spearmint, as he always did, having great hygiene. The great hygiene of it all was an inside joke. He said you tasted like oranges, after the first time you'd kissed. And so went on the jokes about oranges and spearmint. You had avoided anything minty for the time being and just that sense was so fulfilling to find again.
"I missed you... so much more than you'd know," Timothée said after pulling away. He still kept you close, though. You doubted your ability to let him go, so it must have been the same for him. He smiled and laughed through his words, "8 months without you physically with me... it- it was torture!"
"Exactly my thoughts!" You laughed back, glad that the screen didn't glitch when he laughed. FaceTime wasn't enough for the both of you and it showed. He kissed you again, just for fun, to make up for all the kisses he had missed out on while away. So you stayed there, in the rain, clothes soaked. It was as if nothing changed and you were so glad to have him back in that moment, a potential cold from the rain was worth it.
He was there in person, not going anywhere anytime soon. So of course you both took advantage of that.
