"Are you sure I should still go?" Your boyfriend Timothée Chalamet asked, fidgeting with the strap of his backpack. He was leaving for an acting job that would take him a few months and you could not join him due to your own work circumstances. "I want to stay, I should stay, please I want to stay."You laughed, "You have to go and as much as I hate that, you have to!"
He pulled you into his chest and kissed your hair, stroking your back and moving to put his face in your neck. "I'll miss you too much." He mumbled and squeezed you again.
"Promise to text me every day," You said back, kissing his forehead. "Please, please don't forget to text me or I may die."
He pulled away and smiled, "I don't think I ever could. Every day, every hour, every minute if I have to, I will-"
"Timothée, we must be on our way!" His manager called from the car waiting. You frowned, but hugged him again, inhaling to try and preserve his scent in your mind.
He hugged you back tightly and bent down to kiss you. This kiss would be the last kiss for a few months, so of course, you put as much feeling into it as you could. "I love you." You started when he pulled away. "I'll see you soon."
"I promise," he said, tucking your hair behind your ear. "I love you too."
And with that, he jogged down the steps and waved to you once more before getting in the car. Months without him would be hard, but the anticipation would build to a great moment to come where longing would no longer exist. You watched the car roll away and you sat down on the porch steps, inhaling the scent of your sweater which now smelled like him.
