Derrick's POV

The scolding received from my father that day still lingers in my head.

"Do you realise that you just trampled on the future of someone with your doings?
Do you realise you changed the view of men in the eyes if an innocent girl who was just wanting to be loved?
I bet her parents are worried and wondering what has gotten into their daughter. Look! She's successful, she's a beauty and I bet a lot of men has asked her out but unfortunately she'd turned them all down because of you.
She doesn't deserve what you did to her Desmond, she deserved better. Your mother and I didn't bring you up this way so wh...
"It was all because of you!" I remember yelling back at him fed up of all the accusation's.
"Me! How, son tell me" dad asked in an unexpected quiet voice.
"I didn't tell her about u and Mom because that was the period I ran away from you guy's because of the pressure of taking over the company by you and mom. She treated me like the normal person I wanted to be,without being followed everywhere by the paparazzi. I was scared that if I told her about me she'd look at me differently. The day I left without telling her, I didn't want to see her face when I tell her I didn't love her because I did and I still love her! So I had to leave her when mom called that you were hospitalized because of stress and me running away! What did you expect me to do dad. If you were in my shoes you'd do the same" I said.

I remember walking out of his office that day with tears in my eyes. God knows I loved her and I still do.
I sighed and looked back to the paper work in my hands. I haven't even been able to concentrate since I last saw her which was three weeks ago, and knowing that she was and is still hurting because of me... I don't even know what to say.
The ringing of my cellphone brought me back to reality.
"Stone speaking"
"S-sir I've got the information you need" my private search said.
"Come up to my office, tell my PA I sent you"
Yes si-"
...

So you're saying she works in one of my hospital branches" I asked my private search
"Yes sir" he nodded
I smiled inwardly. "That's all thank you" and he left.
I called my PA into my office
"Mr Lan, I would like to inform you of this year's business focus  on my medical team. And I mean I'm going to distribute some of my staffs in handling,upgrading and supervising of the hospitals I own and... I hope you are taking notes?" I frowned
"Yes sir" I gave a nod.

And that was how my day was spent on sharing staffs into different sections and groups to my medical building's,I even went as far as shuffling and reshuffling my employees by sending some outside and inside the states making some happy to embark on their duties.

Third person's POV
Desmond sat down on his chair heavily. He had just returned from the press conference announcing his project for the year and he intended to rest a little probably have his lunch before going to his next meeting with his employee who was made the managing director of the branch hospital His Emma happens to be working in. He decided to see the man himself to plan.

After ringing his assistant to bring his lunch, he sighed and looked round his office and gave a small sad smile. He was pleased with what he saw, it had both the look of wealth and authority but he isn't happy. There's no one to share the wealth with. The one he desires despises him.

His PA came in and dropped his lunch on the table just in front of him.
"Your lunch sir"
"Thank you Micheal" he started not failing to notice the shocked face of his employee.
"What's the problem" he frowned
"N-nothing sir,it's just you called me by my name. I thought you don't know it at all" Micheal blushed at his runny mouth. " you didn't have to say that" his mind chastised.
Desmond simply smiled. "You'd be working closely with me, more like my right hand man so get used to it"

"Sure sir, you need anything?"
Micheal asked composing himself.

"No thank you" he dismissed.
