I was all alone at home, my parents were still at work and Yui seemed to be taking her time coming back.
I felt like a dick just rejecting Yui's call for help so I went out to look for her.
As I walked a few meters, I found her, limping towards me.
I asked her what happened and she told me that she fell in a ditch and acted like it was nothing.
I kneel down and faced my back to her. "What are you doing?"
"What does it look like, stop complaining and just get on."
I carried her all the way back even though it was only a few meters away.
I put her down on the couch and went to get the first aid kit.
The house was unusually quiet, we just sat there not saying a word to each other when the house phone rings.
I answer it and it seems like my parents are gonna work a graveyard shift.
"So I guess its just the two of us, heh."
"Yeah.."
Things got pretty awkward. I figured that she sprained her ankle, I should carry her up to the room but she insisted that she could do it on her own.
"Fine, whatever. If you fall, I wont be there to catch you."
I lied to her. In fact, I was giving all the damns in my imaginary damn pocket, so I pretended I was going to look for something in the storage room.
She looked fine as she was slowly climbing up but as she took the final step, she fell.
I ran as fast as I could to save her fall.
I hit my elbow hard on the floor but the important thing was that I caught her.
"I..i.. T-thought you said you weren't gonna catch me if I fall.."
I didn't say anything and proceeded to carry her up to my room while she was still in my arms.
I leave the room and Yui had a very red face, "I'll be downstairs making dinner if you need me."
"A-arigatou.."
"What was that?"
"N-no no, it was nothing.."
