"James! How did I let you talk me into this?"
"Just shut up and go along with the plan," James replied with a grin that could only be worn by a Marauder.
"And what exactly is the plan?" Sirius asked.
"After breakfast, Remus is going to convince Snivellius to go somewhere with him-"
"Where?!"
"I don't know! The library? Anyway, that's going to give me another chance to ask Lily out in front of everyone and this time, without him there to get in the way, I just know she'll say yes!"
I thought I heard Peter mumble, "this won't end well."
As everyone began to leave the hall, James gave me a push and said:
"Go, Remus!"
I could feel almost everyone at the Slytherin tables eyes on me as I approached Snape.
"Sna-"
"What do you want?" He asked.
Several wands were now pointing at me.
"Is this one of your little games? You're little pranks?"
"No, I just-"
"Wanted to make fun of me?"
"No-"
"Distract me so your friends can try to humiliate me?"
"No-"
Lily's POV:
At the end of breakfast, I saw James give Remus a shove and whisper something in his ear.
Remus got up and started towards the Slytherin table.
"James, what have you told poor Remus to do?"
He didn't respond and, as I watched, Remus seemed to be trying to talk to Sev.
I made my way over to them.
"What's happening?" I asked.
"Lupin's up to something," Sev said, pointing at Remus.
Remus' POV:
Were we really that bad? So bad that, when I tried to talk to Snape, he was convinced we were trying to prank him?
"Remus?" Lily asked, turning to me.
"I just wanted to talk to Snape."
"Then talk."
"Not here-"
"Then no."
"Fine."
I walked back to a distraught James Potter being comforted by Sirius. Peter couldn't stop laughing.
