Remus Lupin One-Shots!

"Aminagi..."

McGonagall's POV

I looked up from my book as Madame Pomfrey led in James Potter, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew and Remus Lupin, who had a large bandage wrapped around his shoulder. That was the only sign of a full moon the previous night.

'Yes, Poppy?'

'I think I should let Mr Lupin explain.'

Remus stepped forward, took a deep breath and opened his mouth. No sound came out.

'Mr Lupin hasn't been making his transformation alone.'

'You don't mean...' I said in disbelief, looking from one face to another.

'No, no.'

'Then what?'

'Mr Potter, Mr Black and Mr Pettigrew, please show Professor McGonagall.'

None of them moved.

'Remus?' James and Sirius asked in unison.

'Show her.'

James, Sirius and Peter all took deep breaths then, before my eyes, changed forms.

James Potter became a stag with antlers like... Prongs.

Sirius Black became a large, black dog with padded feet... Padfoot

Peter Pettigrew became a small, grey rat with a tail like a worm or a... Wormtail.

'Animagi...'

The rat - Peter Pettigrew - had climbed on top of the stag's - James Potter - head while the dog - Sirius Black - had climbed up Remus' leg until he had picked him up.

'How... how did you boys become Animagi?'

The stag once again became James Potter, the rat - Peter Pettigrew - still upon his head.

He shrugged and said, 'Did some research, made a few potions, cast a couple of spells and voila.'

Peter poked James' head, signalling to put him down.

Once on the floor, the rat became a boy again.

'But that isn't possible... what year were you in when you became Animagi?'

'Fifth year,' Peter replied.

'And on full moons...?'

'We've aided Remus on his transformations,' James finished.

'So, not only are you all now illegal Animagi, but you have also been around a Werewolf, at the full moon, monthly, for almost two years?'

'That about covers it,' James said with a nod.

'Is anyone else aware of this?'

'Just us and Lily.'

'How long has Miss Evans known?'

'Since just after we became Animagi.'

'And she failed to alert the ministry?'

'If she had told the ministry about us, she would have had to tell them about Remus as well.'

McGonagall looked like she wanted to scream and cry of frustration at the same time. 

She settled for sighing and giving the boys a death glare.

'You four boys are the most trouble that has ever walked the halls of Hogwarts.'

Suddenly, the dog in Remus' arms barked and became Sirius Black.

'Ouch!' He complained when he fell to the floor.

'Well, you could have given me some warning!'

'I barked!'

The boy got up and turned to face me, 'Now, that is a compliment.'

James pulled him back, 

'As much as I agree with you, Padfoot, we're about to get sent to Azkaban for life and on top of that, possibly get Remus sent... wherever they send Werewolves!'

'As much as Azkaban is deserved, you are not going there. I am intrigued as to how you boys managed to become Animagi independently when even I was unable to.'

When no one said anything, I asked, 'Poppy, how did you find out?'

'I've been suspicious of something going on for a while. Then this morning, when I went to fetch Remus, I found not only Remus but also, a stag, a dog and a rat passed out on the floor. When I woke Remus, they became boys again before waking up.'

'I see... Do you boys realise how serious this is?'

Sirius went to answer but James put a hand over his mouth and said, 

'Yes, Professor.'

'And have you ever been in a situation were any of you were nearly exposed?'

No, Professor.'

'Then I see no course for further action. But, if you boys are ever found out, Poppy and I never knew, okay?'

'Of course, Professor.'

'Off you go then.'

'Three bags full, Professor,' 

I thought I heard Potter mumble as they left.
