Sophia looked down at her stomach. The protuberance of her body made her appear a bit awkward and inevitably uncomfortable. When she looked up, tears brimmed in her eyes. She opened her mouth to say something, but the fear dominated, and not a single word managed to leave her mouth.
"Am _ ", she said, but I wrapped her in my arms before she could have said anything. Her shoulders were frail and thin and her arms had the weakest grip for a teenager. But it wasn't her fault. The circumstances of being a teenager had been incompatibly applied on her.
"You came", she managed to say. With her face buried in my chest, she broke into sobs and tears.
"I'm here", I whispered and brought her closer to me.

After a few seconds, I sensed something odd again. Sophia's grip on me loosened. Even her body felt weak and loose against mines. Although, her grip wasn't all tenacious at first place, but I felt a sudden release of energy. She began to slip away.
"Sophia", I said and lifted her chin. Her eyes were closed and white drool was profusely dripping from her mouth.
"Sophia!" I shouted.
"No no".
Sophia slipped and her body gradually made its way to the floor. I lifted her from the floor. The liquid continuously oozed from her mouth. She had fainted. With Sophia in my arms, I made my way up the stairs. She felt heavy in my arms, which made it even harder to ascend the steep staircase. A great pressure settled on my knees as I ascended the stairs. The liquid from her mouth drenched my chest. The liquid had been dripping profusely from her mouth. And blood also dripped from my fist. The pain in it was excruciating, but only if I tended to feel it.

The rain had picked a phenomenal pace by the time I reached outside. The raindrops hit Sophia's face. But she didn't flinch at all. She wasn't in her senses at all.
As I gained towards the car, I moved her face closer, towards my chest, to stop the rain from hitting her.
Struggling, I opened the passenger door, placed Sophia and reclined the seat. Quickly, I started the car and headed towards the nearest hospital.
___________

After a few minutes, Sophia's body quivered with a violent tremble. I grabbed her hand and squeezed it. Her pulses were still running. I took a look at her, but not for long because I was driving. The white liquid was dripping from her chin to neck. I heard a leaking sound after a perfect minute and her clothes went wet. Her legs and stomach, all of it was drenched. Looking at her critical condition, I hit the accelerator, speeding the car, as well as my heartbeat.
______________

The staff of the emergency department ward was quite agile and vigilant. They took Sophia in a stretcher. She was shifted to the red zone after the initial distribution of the interior emergency ward. Two doctors (female) were appointed for her initial and immediate treatment. A doctor requested me to sit outside for a while because the treatment was intense.

Meanwhile, I sat in the waiting arena, cleaning my cut fist with a few napkins. After a few minutes, a nurse came to me.
"How is she?" I asked, nervously and stood up.
"Are you okay?" asked the nurse, looking at my fist, repugnantly.
"I'm okay, how is she now?" I asked, desperately wanting to know about Sophia's condition.
"She is suffering from the initial stage of preeclampsia. Generally known as toxemia", she informed. The nurse talked about the disease as of it wasn't a big deal.
"What's that?" I asked.
"It occurs only in pregnant women, characterized by high blood pressure, seizures, vomiting, execrable headaches and fluid retention", she completed. I took a deep breath as the doctor spoke.
"Is she you're?" asked the nurse. Her voice trailed off into an uncertain pile of doubt. A tear pooled in my eye. I looked at the nurse. She probably understood my expressions, because she nodded.

After about half an hour, a nurse exited Sophia's room. I stood up immediately.

"You can go in", offered the nurse and I entered the room. Sophia was in a bed, eyes closed.
"Please stop by at the reception afterwards", said the nurse, smiled weakly, and left, leaving just Sophia and I in the room. I sat by Sophia, on an uncomfortable chair. Her eyes were still shut. I reached for her hand and closed it in both of my hands. There were a few cuts near her thumb and some in her palm. I traced my finger over the deep and shallow abrasions on her hand. The doctors had changed Sophia's clothes, leaving her dressed in a light blue, uniform type dress. Looking at her stomach, I found myself utterly addled. I didn't know what was going on. Why she was pregnant.
__________

After twenty long minutes, Sophia opened her eyes, revealing a bright glow. In the dim light of the room, her luminous eyes sparkled. She stared at the ceiling, confused.
"Sophia", I whispered. I was about to reach for her hand, but something inside me made me desist.
"Where am I?" she asked and looked at me.
"Sophia, you fainted and_"
"He's going to kill me! He swore to kill me if I leave!" she panicked. Her eyes widened and a strong fear filled them. It was sad to see that she was fearful in my presence.
"Sophia, nothing will happen_"
"He's going to kill_"
"Sophia! Please...just listen to me", I begged. I believed that I was more panicked than her. But she was also dreaded, and I had to pacify her.
"Sophia, nothing will happen to you. I'm here...with you", I said, trying to calm her down.
"There will be ructions if he figures out", she cried. There was a sharp panic in her voice, and it was all due to a strong fear.
"You're not going back Sophia. Just calm down", I pacified.
"Then where am I going to go? Home? Where my dad sold me?" she said coughed.
"Sophia, please...just...calm down. Everything will be alright okay?" I said and held both of her hands. Some of her stress seemed to evaporate as I touched her.
"I'm here...okay?" I said calmly. Tears brimmed in her eyes.
We sat in silence for a while. Sophia cried profusely. There were a million questions and a tremendous confusion between us.

"Sophia, did he...marry...you?" I managed to ask, looking at her stomach. A menacing silence descended the room.
"Amir I...he", she said and gasped. She, again, cried and cried, with sobs and hiccups. I understood that something terrible had happened to her, due to which she cried unceasingly. Her imperishable tears proved ample.

"He...raped me", she said, and an ocean of tears broke from her eyes. Sophia's words hit me hard. She had been raped. I watched her cry, and there was nothing I could do about it. I wondered how she had so many tears in her eyes to let loose. There was a conspicuous trace of verisimilitude dissolved in her voice. Silently, I listened to her. There was also a vast amount of grief and pain accumulated inside her, and she needed to evacuate as much as possible. As soon as possible, as well. Because she was a woman. And women can only get rid of their grief by releasing it to the right person. To whom they have much trust in. It was best for Sophia to release all of the grief by talking to me. And it was best for me to listen to her without any interruption.
I perused the intricate movement of her lips as she spoke. He didn't marry her though. She had been raped. A vulgar, illegal and inadvertent insemination.

"I couldn't do anything", she said and wiped her tears. I took her face in my hands. There was a permanent fear glued to her face, and solely Sophia knew the pain submerged in it.
__________

Sophia fell asleep ten minutes after the doctor had injected her. Her hand was still in mines as her eyes closed. Reluctantly, I released my hand and stood up. I had to pick dad up.
Before I left the room, I looked at her once again. Anxiety hid between the serene expressions on her face as she slept. Wondering whether the serenity would ever dominate her anxiety, I took off.
