On the fifteenth morning since awoke from the coma the doctor visits whilst Hayley has gone home to change. He bears a large smile on his face as he approaches me. "Good morning, how are you feeling Alexandria?" He continues before I have the chance to answer properly so I just nod. "You'll be happy to know that you are being discharged today. There are a few forms you'll need to sign first but you should be able to leave come lunchtime." I continue to nod along with him until he finishes. After his speech the doctor leaves to get the paperwork ready for me to sign.
An hour passes and I manage to sign all documents. A nurse brings me some loose grey jogging bottoms and a cream-coloured jumper from the hospitals lost property. The bottoms fit me perfectly, the top hung loose.
As I pull the top over my head the door opens. I pull the top down quickly. The bruising has mostly gone now and my surgery scar was fast healing but I still felt the need to hide them from everyone, even myself. I turn around to see Hayley stood there. She had showered and put her hair up in a quick messy bun. She had put minimal make up on. She had changed into a black pair of skinny jeans and a plain black t-shirt. She looked simple yet stunning.
"Damn." She mutters under her breath. "huh?" I respond and she looks a little taken back as if she hadn't expected me to hear her. Instead of answering straight away she walks towards me. Carefully she tucks a strand of hair behind my hair. I lean against her palm closing my eyes for a second as I take in her lavender fragrance. That smell will never get old to me.
As I open my eyes, I notice she is smiling at me. "You are beautiful." As these words leave her mouth, I believe every word. She means every word and we both know it. She steps forward so our faces are cm's apart. There is so much chemistry in the air you could fuel a bonfire. I close my eyes as I wait for her to seal the moment. I can feel her warm breath against my lips. I bite my lip as I suddenly become nervous. Just as our lips are about to lock, there's a knock on the door causing Hayley to jump back.
The same doctor from earlier enters the room and looks a little awkward when he see's us both. I look down at the floor, my hair falling over my face, hiding my flushed cheeks. "Ahem," he clears his throat, "All the paperwork is in order. You are now all discharged. Remember you still need plenty of rest. You're GP has been notified of all your injuries. You will need to go in for a check up in 3 weeks time to make sure everything continues to heal properly and safely. Please avoid any strenuous activities and hopefully we won't be seeing you again any time soon." With that he smiles and leaves us in the room.
A grin has formed onto Hayley's face as she embraces me in a hug. "I can't believe you can really come home" She squeals into my shoulder before realising what she had just said, "I mean my house obviously." It's cute how she has become nervous so suddenly. I take a step back and smile at her. "I can't believe I can go home either" Hayley's face reddens as I call her house home.
