We made it to Hogwarts by around 8 p.m., and so Penny, Alex and I go off to find Oliver, since he didn't come back. I personally think that we should let him do whatever the hell he wants, but Penny begs to differ. I'm just coming along so she and Alex don't do anything colossally dumb.
We go down only one cart until we find him exiting a cart with Jalissa and some other tall kid..
WAIT A DAMN MINUTE THAT'S THE TALL KID WHO BUMPED INTO ME AND SCUFFED MY NEW SHOES-
My thoughts are cut off by Penny, who's in a raging fit, "OI, OLIVER! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING WITH THOSE MUDBLOODS?!?" She has a look of disgust on her face while staring at her brother.
We've been taught never to talk to half bloods or muggle borns, but even so, I was surprised by the derogatory word she used in such a public manner. Didn't even know that Jalissa was a mudblood.
Oliver's just gaping at her angrily as she goes off into a fit of madness. "Honestly Oliver, you know better than to hang out with mudbloods of all people-"
"Hey! It's not nice to say that!" I look up to find another surprise, the tall boy.
Now that I can see him clearly and not be blinded by annoyance, he seems very wimpy for his height. Especially with such a visibly nervous face.
Penny chuckles and says, "Oh yeah? What the hell are you gonna do, Hufflepuff boy?"
"Penny, stop." Alex puts his hand on her shoulder, kind of menacingly. He may be dumb and clumsy, but he's also way older than us and could definitely beat all of our asses in a duel due to that.
Penny, on the other hand, doesn't care. She moves her shoulder away from Alex and starts walking closer to the boy, until Jalissa moves her arm out stopping her.
"Stop. Right now." Definitely more effective than the beanpole. "I can see that we aren't wanted here." She has a very cold air when saying this.
We leave with Oliver, and I glance behind me to see Jalissa say politely, "Bye, Oliver."
Oliver turns around and mumbles out, almost not being able to hear him, "Yeah, bye."
Jalissa looks angry, but the tall boy grabs her shoulder before anything else happens. Good thing too, I don't want to hang around here much longer, we've already created too much of a crowd. Oliver catches up to us. I nudge his shoulder. "Dude, that was cold."
He scoffs and averts his gaze. "Shut up." Avoiding eye contact? That's not a thing that he does..
Something seems off and it's annoying the hell out of me.
I don't try to fish it out of him and I just follow Penny to the carriages. We climb up onto an empty carriage and sit in silent for the second time since we got into the train.
I don't like how different everyone is acting. We've had worse fights with other people before and we stayed exactly the same. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. No clever quips from Oliver, no ugly laughs from Penny, and no dumb remarks from Alex.
But do I want to do anything about it? If I do, it would most likely become more awkward and get everybody more pissed than they already are. But if I don't, then things would stay the exact same, which is still unbearable enough.
I'm just going to let it be. Alex will probably do something, being the dunce head that he is.

We are already in the Great Hall.
And nobody has said a damn word, until Oliver says with a smirk, "See you bastards later." He makes a peace sign and heads off to the Ravenclaw table.
To my surprise, Penny laughs and responds, "Hope we never." Oliver snorts in mock manner and they both flip each other off.
What the hell?
What happened?
What did I miss in the time we were in the carriage to the Great Hall?
I exchange a look with Alex and he shrugs. I guess I have no choice but to go along with it.
Either way, we all walk towards the Slytherin Table and I spot the beanpole that was with Jalissa earlier, sitting at the hufflepuff table. I scoff without thinking. Now I know why he was so weak looking for being that tall. I recall Penny saying something about it earlier but I must have missed it.
He sits at the Hufflepuff table next to us, and for the sake of not experiencing anything else incredibly uncomfortable, I have our group sit in a way so that we don't face him.
Soon enough, we go through the routine. Food, the Sorting, and then next the speech from our headmaster, Dumbledore. The Sorting Hat does it's little jingle and for the next hour we see little kids get sorted into houses.
I cheer for the ones that land in our house, but other than that, I don't really pay attention to it, since it's more boring than that one time I had to attend my father's business meeting at the ministry during the "Bring your kid to work" day. I see that Alex is asleep and Penny's playing with a spoon.
Soon enough, everyone claps, waking up a confused Alex, who soon enough starts clapping like he didn't just fall asleep during the whole thing. Penny hits the table with her palm unenthusiastically, and I'm just sitting there, hoping that we'll be dismissed soon enough.
Lucky for me, our Head Boy and Girl stand up, directing all the slytherins to the door exiting the Great Hall. We go down towards the dungeons, walking beside some Hufflepuff students, since their dorms are also in the dungeons.
Once again, I spot a honey blonde mop of hair, seeing the tall guy that was friends with Jalissa. I wonder how they became friends when they're in different houses.. maybe they're family friends or have known each other before Hogwarts.
I shake my head. That's none of my business, it's not like I'd ever need to know him. Or will.
I bet he's as dorky as any other Hufflepuff, with their plants and cookies and their "love for the world," and, "peace on earth," rubbish. Honestly, Hufflepuffs are possibly the most annoying kind of people. Besides Gryffindors. Gryffindors are absolutely mental.
I'm roomed up with 3 other slytherins. I drop my bags by my bed, not bothering to put them away and just swan dive into the mattress. Before shutting down I warn, "I'm going to sleep, if any of you blokes disturb my slumber I'll see to it that you'll be beheaded."
Just before I fall asleep I hear one of them mutter, "Always the dramatics with this one."
