When I came home, Amber was there talking to my mother. As soon as I stepped inside she ran into me and hugged me thight. "Miss Eggy, you poor thing!"

I laughed at her reaction but wondered how she knew what happened at school today. Before I could ask, she told me. "Evan texted me about what Shannon and Paisley did - how cruel! Shannon seems to work on everyone's nerves so it's for the best to ignore her. I'm lucky not to have such a bitch in my class."

I nodded. "Very lucky." We were still standing in the hallway, so I suggested to go to my room.

Amber entered and looked around. Of course, the furniture was there, but my room was far from finished. She pointed at one of the walls. "We need to do something about this."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Well, your room has to be stunning in case you take a boy home. And this wall is way too boring, so let's change that right now." Amber paused and them a smile crept on her face. "What about the boys at your school? Are they hot? Evan hardly talks about them, you know."

I had immediately liked Amber and I liked her more with every second that passed. She made me feel at home and acted like we had known each other for years, while in fact, we met just a few days ago.

"Where's your computer? And do you have any magazines here?" Amber asked, not waiting for a reply on her previous question.

I turned on my laptop and got some old magazines - I wonder why I even moved them to the new house, although they were useful now. The next two ours, we printed and cut out all kinds of fashion items and celebrities half of which I had never seen before. Amber had raced to the supermarket to get a XL-photo frame while I was cutting out more pictures. In the end, we glued them together and fabricated a nice collage.

"Are you statisfied with the result?" Amber pretended to be serious.

"It was a waste of time, it looks worse than the egg salad in my face," I joked. We burst out in laughter at the exact same moment.

"Do you have time tomorrow?" Amber asked when we were finally done laughing.

"Sure," I said, "do you have more creative ideas?"

Amber shook her head. "My fingers still hurt from those awful scissors. We should get you some nice ready-made accessoiries. To decorate your desk and stuff."

I nodded. "I'll be home around 4 pm. See you at my house?"

With that settled, Amber left and refused to stay for dinner due to loads of homework. How could she have so much homework after just one day of school? It was the first day after summer break and most of my teachers started with introductions and didn't give any homework at all.

I had dinner with mom and Danielle. Ty had fallen asleep, he was dead tired after an entire day of kindergarten. Dani had cooked which ment the food was disgusting. The chicken tasted like it was wood or something and the mashed patatoes were almost black. How hard could it be? Even I could cook better, I bet. But mom didn't complain. She even praised Dani for cooking.

"What would this family be without you, Dani? You're like a second mother to Ty and Giselle and I'm so thankful for all your help," mom said.

No way in hell Dani would ever be like a second mother to me, I thought. But I was wise enough to keep that to myself.

After an horrible half an hour with almost having to throw up for about three times, I was free to relax for a moment. At least, that's what I hoped for. Mom called me back to do the dishes. Wonderful.

Finally being finished, I lay down on my bed. I closed my eyes and an image of Vince popped up in my mind. There was something about him. He was definitely good-looking. But so was Russel. I tried to decide who I liked better. I couldn't decide, because I didn't really know them. However, part of me fancied Vince. I started to ask myself why until I fell asleep.
