THE NIGHT IS MINE (Marine corps X reader)

Part 1

Skylar Purdy's POV:

I wake up to my alarm going off so I hop out of bed and get into my dress greens because I am a Marine Corp and we have war tomorrow. After I got done getting dressed I walked out of my room to see my brother and his friends sitting in the living room chatting. "Where you going?" Ash asked looking at me with a confused look. "Packing my things for war!" I said and I watched as his eyes grew big. "Sky I thought that we've been through this?" He asked and I put my hand on my chest trying my best not to cry even though Marines don't cry. "Ash, I hope you're not mad at me." I said pulling him into my arms. "No, he's upset that you have to leave us Sky." Jake added joining the conversation between my brother and I. "I understand that!" I said letting tears fall down my face.

I finished packing all my things for warfare tomorrow. "Hey Sky I know you are going to have to go to war tomorrow but please come home safe!" Ash beggs and I promise him that I will. "I promise you that I will come back safe!" I said hugging him and kissing the top of his head. "Dinner is done just so you know!" He said and I followed him downstairs to the table. "Good luck Ms. Skylar Purdy we all hope you come home safe." Jinxx says and I smile at them one last time before I leave. "Thank you to whoever made dinner!" I said getting up from the table. Soon as I walked upstairs into my room I felt like I shouldn't be in the Marines. 'Skylar breathe just breathe!' I tell myself then in the middle of me getting ready to go to sleep I saw my brother in my door way.
