The door slammed shut behind you and you lazily slipped your shoes off of your feet, leaving them by the entrance.
"Hey Y/N!" Nao greeted, walking out of the kitchen with a chocolate bar clutched in his hand. "Takao said you went on a date!"
"It wasn't a date." You huffed, gripping tighter onto the straps of your backpack, his words triggering more hurt in your chest.
"Oh.." he noticed the unhappy mood radiating from you, it being written all over your face, so he knew annoying you more probably wouldn't be the best idea. "Well.. Maria made dinner.. yours is in the microwave, I think." He mumbled, trying to be nice for once. "I was gonna eat it, but you can have it."
"Oh wow, thanks for letting me have my own food." You rolled your eyes sarcastically, trudging into the kitchen. "That's very nice of you."
You exhaled as you pressed the button on the microwave to heat up your meal, you leaning against the kitchen counter as the buzzing vibrations echoed within the big kitchen.
"Hey! How was your-" Takao wandered in after finding out you were home, but you quickly cut him off.
"If one more person asks me how 'my date' was, I'm gonna fucking scream." You warned, your tone making him raise his hands defensively.
He laughed nervously. "Alright, alright." He walked over to the side of the kitchen you were on and sat on the counter opposite where you were stood. "But how was it."
"Shit." You growled, your eyes averting to the ground almost immediately. "Well.. it wasn't shit.." you hesitated. "But it was shit."
"Mhm, okay." He squinted his eyes as if any of what you said made sense. "Care to explain?" He chuckled.
You sighed. "Well.. Mina ran off like I said she would which left me and Todoroki alone, right?" You explained, Takao nodding along. "So we spent the rest of the time together and it was super fun, and I got to know him loads more and.. it was just great!" You inhaled excitedly, the microwave beeping as it finished but you ignored it.
"Okay? So why was it shit?" He asked confused.
"Because, when Mina eventually came back, she made a comment about it being a date.." your voice dropped sadly. "And Todoroki made it very clear that it wasn't, and that he didn't want it to be... and I knew it wasn't.. but him saying it.. well.. hurt."
"Aw baby." He pouted out his bottom lip as he hopped off the counter, wrapping his arms around you kindly in a warm hug to try and get rid of the upset expression you wore. "It's okay."
He rested his chin on your head as you wrapped your arms around his torso.
"Why won't he just like me back." You huffed childishly. "I'm not that bad."
