"So how was your date?", Michelle said laying down on the beach chair next to Briley's.
"It was perfect, he took me out to dinner on a boat and then he rented a pent house which was romantic and then we watched My Bloody Valentine.", Briley explained putting on sun tan lotion.
"Very nice... Sounds like you two. A nice romantic night that ends with a slasher film. Only you two.", Ashlee said flipping through the pages of a magazine.
"It was until Gena called the next morning.", Briley said and all the girls stopped what they were doing.
"She what!!", Tess asked in disbelief.
"She called Zack's phone and said I miss you baby. Where are you my love? There's something going on between them two.", Briley said.
"I'd say. Did you talk to Zack about it?", Val asked.
"Nope. I have better plans.", Briley said mischievously.
"Just don't hurt him Bri.", Roxxi said.
"Are you serious? The man is sleeping with his ex wife and your telling me not to hurt him! Why is it that everytime something happens it's always my fault? Every since Jax, you blame everything on me Rox. Jax rapes me, it's my fault... Zack leaves his wife for me, it's my fault... Now there's a possibility that he's cheating on me, must be my fault too.", Briley said loosing her temper. She got up off the beach chair and gathered her things.
"Bri, calm down.", Val said.
"No Val, I won't calm down. I'm so sick and tired of everything. I know you all judge me because I haven't slept with Zack yet. I sure as hell know you all think I'm a fucking basket case because of everything that has happened. I'm not going to sit here with my so called friends while they tell me not to hurt the man who is cheating on me. I'm fucking done.", Briley said and stormed off to her car.
She drove home and stopped dead in her tracks to find Gena sitting on her couch with a glass of wine in her hand.
"What are you doing in my house?", Briley asked leaning against the doorway to the living room.
"Zack invited me over. He said we needed to talk.", Gena said and put her glass down on the coffee table. She walked over to Briley.
"Listen, I tried to get over the fact that he left me for you. Then a few weeks ago he called me up and we talked about everything... How things used to be before you came into the picture... How happy we were... How you haven't slept with him yet. He's not happy with you any more. This whole relationship you have with him is stale. He needs me, not some basket case.", she said and went back over to the couch and sat. Briley's eyes were starting to water. Maybe Gena was right. Just then Zack came in from the kitchen.
"Bri. I didn't expect you home so early.", he said as if Gena wasn't even in the house.
"Don't worry... I won't be here much longer.", Briley said and headed up the stairs as a few tears fell down her face. She went into the bedroom and started to pack her things. She heard Zack enter the room. He came in and sat on the bed.
"Please don't go.", he practically whispered and then hung his head. Briley walked over to him and picked his head up so that their eyes met.
"Zack, I love you so much so what I'm about to do has nothing to do with you. We need to spend some time a part. Go be with Gena, I'm ok with that. She can give you things that I can't. At least not now. I need to fix myself. I don't love myself and I can't truly love another person if I don't love myself.", she explained. He just nodded. Suddenly their lips met and time stood still. This what they both wanted more than anything but Briley knew what she had to do and Zack knew that he had to let her go. Briley pulled away.
"How long?", Zack asked.
"I don't know. If we ever meet again in the future then maybe it was meant to be. If not then what we had will always be special to me.", Briley said and then continued to pack. The whole time Zack watched her. It was finally time for her to leave, she gave Zack one last kiss and left. She only hoped that they would meet again.
