I studied his hands; they were covered in cuts that have long healed. That wasn't why I didn't want to shake his hand. I just didn't want to touch a stranger.

He let his arm drop to his side. "So, ready to go?"

"I don't want to go." I inspected his eyes. His eyes were a deep blue and his hair looked tossed around. He seemed older than me. If he wasn't a stranger, I would have considered him to look handsome.

"It's not as if you want to, you have to." His nice-guy side faltered. He then nervously looked at both my parents. "I mean, if she doesn't go, her mental state can worsen. You wouldn't like that would you?"

My mom and dad shook their heads. "You should get going honey. We love you and we'll see you soon."

They're letting me go so easily? "Mom, you don't really trust this man, do you?" I gestured at Dr. Erwin.

"Of course we do. He's a psychiatrist. And certified. You must go for your own good. We'll be able to visit."

I held my position a bit longer and finally gave in. "Fine."

"Great," Dr. Erwin exclaimed. "Let's get in the car and my buddies here will put your stuff in the back."

I hesitated, inspecting my parents' faces. They seemed at ease with me leaving. In the end, I did follow Dr. Erwin into the car as I waved my parents goodbye. After the awkward moments alone with Dr, Erwin, the bodyguards of his got in.side the car. One next to me, leaving me in the middle of him and Dr. Erwin, and the other in the driver's seat. We drove on in a straight line for a while. I noticed the bodyguard next to me had a handgun in his belt. It made me nervous.

It took us some hours and we passed a lot of nothing. Only trees and plants. No one was heading or leaving where we were going. My parents were right: This area looked very secluded. We eventually drove on a dirt path headed deeper in the woods until we came up a large, big building. It really did look like a hospital. It was white and had windows and glass doors tinted black. Surrounding it was a brick wall with a black gate as an entrance.

Once we approached the gate, it swung open. We slowed to a stop in the large front yard and Dr. Erwin and I got off. The sun was almost about to set but teenagers were outside planting and playing around with each other.

What caught me off guard was a dark-skinned boy with short hair twists with a low fade. He was sitting down next to a group of teens, chatting. He glanced my way and I noticed his dark, glistening eyes. He was wearing a white sweatshirt with black pants and high top shoes. Like everyone else. He then noticed and seemed to study me too. He looked at my lips and met my eyes, smiling warmly. My heart flipped and I quickly looked away.

I also observed he was the only dark-skinned teen I've seen. Most were white skinned. I was a tint darker but was still pale, because I was Hispanic.

I followed Dr. Erwin inside the building. The walls painted a light gray and the floor was tile which I disliked. It was like a bathroom's tile floor. Dr, Erwin led me to an elevator and we went up until we entered the 7th floor. We walked and we reached a office, where we went inside. It was filled with cabinets with files squeezed in and the table littered with papers and framed pictures. The walls were also plastered with pictures of a family and I saw Dr. Erwin. So I guessed it was his.

"Please, sit down." He gestured to a seat across from him. I did. "I will explain why you have been recruited. Welcome to the Black Rose Facility for teens with special abilities. And you have special abilities."

I scanned the room, puzzled. "I thought this was a mental hospital."

"That's the coverup story," he smiled. "Anyways, All the teens you've seen out there have special abilities. For example, telekinesis, empathy, pathins or the ability to give emotions. Teleportation, strength, inflicting, healing, and more. I know this sounds like a joke but it's not. Here we help these teens feel in place and we help them. And other things you will soon find out. Also, we don't accept any visitations from the outside world, we have to keep this place a secret."

"Who do you work for?" I asked.

"That's classified information." He said, still smiling.

I looked at his laptop. "Do you have me in your system?"

"Actually, yes. We've been watching you since you became a teen. Around 13 I think. And I got to say," He looked at his laptop's screen. "you seem to have the healing ability. There's not a lot of teens with it, so it was a good find."

"How did you find me?" I asked.

"We monitor all teens when they become 12 and look for signs. If they don't show any, we stop monitoring them. Mostly Americans have gotten the abilities, so I was surprised you were Hispanic. Do you have anymore questions?"

"Um, no." I said. So what? Was this a facility for superheroes?

He pressed a button on his telephone and said loudly, "All subjects report to the auditorium at this time. Thank you." He took his hand off the button.

"We should getting going, follow me." He stood and walked toward the door.

I got up and followed him again downstairs. Subjects? We does he call them subjects?

We approached some doors and we walked in. It was a huge auditorium filled with rows and rows of seats. And every seat was filled with people. When. We walked down the runway, a girl with short brown hair smiled at me and waved. I smiled back.

We came up on the stage, a microphone and it's stand already in place. There was a chair in the middle, where I was instructed to sit down on.

"Good afternoon everyone! Today I welcome a new subject." Dr. Erwin announced, pointing happily towards me.

Everyone clapped and cheered. Even the girl with short brown hair did.

"Now, everyone knows what time it is. It's time for her to get Numbered." He said loudly. He looked back at me and gestured something. And then I felt something pinch my neck, warm liquid flowing in. I flinched at the pain and looked back at a bodyguard holding a now empty syringe.

Everyone started to cheer and clap loudly.

"Let's give a warm welcome to Noah Dendiz who will be joining the healing section!"

My forearm started to feel tingly and I watched as a letter and numbers surfaced. They were in bold and were the color of blood:

H—001

A/N: I know there's to many things happening at the same time, and I'm sorry for that.
