Chapter 3 - Cave and Qui
I stand in disbelief in front of Levi, "Say that again."
"What? You don't believe me do you? That's why I didn't want you to know. I'm not even sure if I saw it right or my eyes were just playing tricks on me." He said as he walked past me towards the other side of the cave.
"No, those sparkles. Levi, I saw them too." I turn to face him.
He stopped walking, "You...saw them?" He slowly turned to look at me, eyes bewildered and surprised.
"Yeah I did! It was like small falling stars wasn't it?" I describe the same thing I saw beside his eyes.
Shin nodded, "And it only lasts a few seconds." He added.
"Exactly! Oh my gosh, I'm not the only one seeing those weird things after all." I say relieved at the thought of not being crazy.
"Did you see them in your chest too?" He asked me, eyes glimmering in wonder and inching closer to me. I instinctively cover my front even though I now know that he wasn't really being a pervert.
"Uh. No. I actually saw them beside your eyes." I say truthfully and take a small step further away. Heh....just to make sure.
Unaware of my uneasiness, Levi tilts his head and touches his eyes. "Huh? My eyes? I have those sparkles too?!"
"I didn't even know I had them too." I comment and look down, "They were in my chest?" I ask to double check.
"Yeah. It was when we were in the tunnel and I tried to confirm it again when we got out." He answers me straight.
Still looking down, I no longer look at my chest. I realize that I had the wrong idea all along. He really wasn't trying to kiss nor violate me. Heh...my bad. I feel my cheeks getting hot with embarrassment for the nth time today. "This....is weird." I nervously say.
"I'd say." He nods in agreement. "But it isn't all that bad." He added.
"What do you mean?" I look at him, eyes questioning and blush subsiding.
"Those sparkles of yours helped me see when we were in that dark tunnel. Although it was a small glimpse at a time, it really helped." He says as he sits down in the soft fluffy floor.
I take a seat in front of him and say, "Really? Well, that's one surprise after another."
"Yeah" He sighs, "This is a lot for just one day." He shakes his head, trying to organize his thoughts. "I'm having a headache just trying to understand the situation."
"Then you better brace yourself. We haven't even found the reason why we 'sparkle' in the first place." I reply, amused by his lost expression.
He rubs his temple, "This whole thing doesn't make sense at all." His words are full of concern and doubt.
I remain silent and let my train of thoughts guide me as I think about everything that happened.
Levi was supposed to be in another world but why, out of all places, would he be sent here? Why was the exact same library present in this world and both Levi's and mine? Why was I sent here? Why did it have to be me? Why were Levi and I forced to meet? What is this world we're in? Why is there normal water when all the other things in this place are like that out of a dream? And why the heck are we sparkling all of a sudden? I never knew sparkles fell from my chest in the first place! Is it a thing here in this world? My family and friends never saw these things before!
