A/N:

I'm sorry for the long wait. I love you all, I've just been busy with school, Instagram (vote.snowman.saxon), sports, and my other stories..

BTW the picture above is how I imagine Hazel Grace to look.

And again. Hazel Grace Waters was not based off of The Fault In Our Stars' Hazel Grace Lancaster. I didn't know about TFIOS when I wrote the first chapter, I just liked the two names together and I started thinking of Riversong... BOOM. Hazel Grace Waters.

Also.
I am not going to do chapter titles anymore. I know I started off doing them, but its gotten hard to think up chapter titles that actually sound good and witty. The last few have been sounding kind of stupid in my opinion, so I've decided to stop doing them.

And just a quick thank you. I have some awesome constant readers, and I smile whenever I see comments and votes. I love you all.

Also, comment if yyou'd like me to attach songs that I'd think fit the chapters to the future chapters.

One more thing. (last thing, I promise) Comment an emoji (smiling face if you don't have emojis) if you like this chapter. Votes work too...

Well, I'll get back to the story now. If you read this, you are a wonderful person. If you didn't, well, hopefully you'll read the chapter...

Hazel gasped as she liked outside he TARDIS doors. The planet she was looking upon was blue. Not ocean blue. Not night sky blue either. A bright blue. Like there was electricity coursing under the surface of the terrain.

"Kiiloth's energy comes from a few feet below the surface. The few intelligent beings that live on the planet have harnessed some of that energy, using it to power their civilisation. They are a far more advanced colony than humans, mostly due to their usages of Kiiloth's energy."

"Wow..."

"Actually... Have you ever seen someone with a weird look? Maybe in a mall, or on the street? Someone that looks like they're trying to fit in, but they're doing it wrong? Maybe a way too peppy store clerk?"

"Let me guess. Aliens?"

"Kiilothians. Well... Some times. As I said, they have a small civilisation, so not many people who they have available to send up in to space."

"Do you think we could go and see some Kiilothians?"

"Well..." The Doctor looked at Hazel Grace, who gave him puppy eyes. "I gguess but you need protective boots. Kiiloth may be a gigantic ball of energy, but its also extremely radioactive."

"Okay!" Hazel beamed at the Doctor. This man is turning out to be pretty cool. The Doctor walked further in to the TARDIS, throwing open a door. He walked in a room, coming out a few minutes later with two suits.

"These suits are completely protective. They'll block out any radiation or other foreign substance that your body isn't capable of handling."

"That's so weird... How does it know which substances to block out?"

"It's an adaptable suit."

"I guess that makes sense..."

"Here," The Doctor threw a suit over to Hazel Grace. She slipped it on over her clothes, then turned to see the Doctor in a matching suit with a helmet in. "Last part," he walked over to her, his voice sounding weird and filtered. He slipped the helmet over her head, hooking it up to the suit. "The suit provides oxygen, so we don't need heavy tanks. Just make sure that this valve doesn't come undone while we're down there."

"Roger that," Hazel nodded at him, giving him a thumbs up. Her voice also sounded filtered. "Why do our voices sound like that?"

"Built in instant translator, works both ways. Anything you say is translated for you in to the planet's language. Any foreign language you hear is also instantly translated, so you'll always know what anyone's saying without needing me to translate."

"You weren't kidding when you said these suits were adaptive."

"Nope." He smirked at her. "Now, would you like to be the first human who has traveled another planet, other than the ones in your solar system? Actually, speaking of, what year is this?"

"2009... Why?"

"Just checking. Some clever people figure out how to travel mars in a few decades. A rover actually lands on mars in about four years. Sent up by America."

"I was born in America," Hazel remarked.

"I was wondering what that accent was." The Doctor didn't miss a beat.

"Accent?"

"Well, you don't sound like a regular Brit. You have a trace of another accent in your voice, and sometimes you flip between them. You probably haven't been in Britain very long."

"Well, your right. I was sent over here to live with my grandmother by my uncle,

"Well, we should go-" The Doctor started, but Hazel wasn't finished. She needed to get this out to someone.

"My stupid uncle who didn't follow my father's direct request. Which wouldn't have been placed if he had just stopped drinking so much like I had asked. But he had to go out and get more liquor. He had to have just one more beer. And my stupid brother, who insisted upon coming with him,"

"Hazel, we really should-"

"But of course dad was drunk," Hazel's eyes were starting to tear up, but she continued to talk. The Doctor didn't try to interrupt. "and he didn't see the red light. And now Cameron's dead and dad's in jail. I was left with my stupid uncle, who couldn't care less about me. So he just pawned me off on my grandmother." Hazel's voice was shaking now, tears spilling over her cheeks. "I... I'm sorry... I just... I needed to tell someone... I shouldn't have-" Hazel stopped talking, feeling the Doctor's arms wrap around her.

"It's okay, Hazel Grace. I know how you feel." The Doctor pulled away, looking at her. "Do you still want to see the Kiilothian society?"

Hazel took her helmet off briefly, partially so she could wipe her tears, mostly because she hated how her voice sounded through the filtered helmet. "Of course I do," She gave him a shaky smile. "It would be hard to pass up that offer."

"Alright. You're sure that you're okay, right?"

"Okay? I'm right as rain."

"That's good. Wouldn't want you all sad, now would we?"

"I suppose not." Hazel's smile was now strong, reinforced by her cheery eyes. What did he mean by he knew how I feel? How would he? Hazel out those questions away for later.

She had a planet to roam.

And she was going to enjoy doing it. Hazel Grace wouldn't let the past bring her down now.

She pushed all thoughts of the past behind her.

"Ready to go?" The Doctor asked, stretching out a hand to her.

"Aye aye, captain." Hazel took the Doctor's hand and he escorted her outside on to the radioactive blue planet.
