You were thankful Danny asked you to join him and sit with him in some other classes you found out you had with him. It wasn't all morning classes, but you were pleased that it was more than expected. It definitely brought your mood up that you were able to make some friends in the school, or at least that's what you hope you guys were. It made being the new girl an easier experience. Tucker even starting dialing down on the creepy advances and settled with cheesy pick up lines. You got used to it fast by mentally comparing the unsettling feeling you would get when Dash was hitting on you.

Lunch rolled around, faster than expected. Having at least one friend in a class makes a difference in keeping track of time. Now, you were at your locker putting supplies away and mentally debating whether to join your new friends for lunch or ducking back in the library to avoid unwanted attention again. Considering Sam, Tucker, and Danny haven't invited you to eat with them yet, you decided to go back to the library where you could enjoy silent reading with a fruit bowl you pack from home.

Danny walked up to your locker after putting his stuff away in his own locker that wasn't too far from yours and greeted you with a smile. You smiled back as he asked, "Ready to go?"

You blinked in confusion, "For what?"

He chuckled before answering with a thumb pointing over his shoulder, "To eat, or at least hang out in the cafeteria." He added with a nervous laugh, "Sometimes, they have edible food."

You hesitated. Not that you wanted to avoid Danny; if anything, he and Sam are the best people you met so far and even Tucker has his amusing moments, but the possibility of seeing Dash again almost sealed the deal. You tried to think of a way to politely decline without it sounding rude.

"Hey," he called while his voice getting softer, "what's wrong?" His eyes stayed on you, watching every fidget movement you made. Your squirming got worse when his changing tone caught you off guard. You had to tear your eyes away from his before clearing your throat as your voice got stuck in it.

"I feel like I'm complaining too much but," you started as you glanced at his unchanging gaze, waiting for you to continue, "you guys are great and I would love to eat lunch with you. I just don't want to encounter Dash again."

His hand went to touch his chin in thought as his eyes went to the side. He hummed seeming to understand where you were coming from, instead of being defensive. This made you think you were very lucky to meet someone who was as understanding as Danny. It would explain why when he has friends that don't match his personality at all; he's just so accepting. "Where do you want to go?" he asked.

Just as you about to answer with opening your mouth, your words choked in your throat again but for a different reason. Catching you off guard, another unexpected and probably unwanted voice joined in the conversation. "No where with you, loser," the voice said, causing you and Danny to turn your heads at the girl who said it. You were frowning when you realized what she said. He was no loser, definitely not in your books. You almost took offense even though the comment wasn't directed towards you.

There standing with a mocking pose with her hands on her hips and a smirk on her lips was a Hispanic. She looked like she took way too long to do her make up and wore a pink, tight-fitting, mid-drift shirt that emphasized her hips and her chest. A pair of hair clips held back her hair and practically made you look at the work of her dark eyeshadow. It was only then you realized she had the sexy female in the room feeling and a lot of eyes of the opposite sex were on you and the newcomer, more than yesterday.

She approached the two of you and stood almost in between you and Danny. She seemed to know what she does to the other half the population of the school when she popped her hip out. Her attention was on Danny, and he got nervous. You didn't know what to think or do so you watched silently at the exchange.

"Why don't you run off to your goth, loser girlfriend and the techno geek friend?" she instigated. You furrowed your eyebrows at the comment. You didn't know what to think of the information you gather from that, but it was still rude.

"She's not my girlfriend," Danny stuttered out.

"Whatever," the girl rolled her eyes, "just stay out of our way. You're bothering my new friend."

Instantly, you knew she was talking to you. Subconsciously, you were gripping the strap of your book bag. It helped you restrain any facial movement. You took a half step back when she turned to you. Her eyes scanned you, whether it was to check out competition or seeing you were worthy for...whatever she was thinking about. Her eyes weren't the same as Sam's when she first looked at you. Sam's eyes held more caution while this girl was more obscene. Her eyes finally met yours and you saw her real color eyes from behind her contacts. She plastered on a smile and her tone changed.

"I heard so much about you," she chimed. Despite your hard control on your emotions at the moment, you couldn't help but flinched at the pitch of her voice. "You have great style, almost as great as my looks."

And, there it was. You were waiting for the controversy of the nice girl, where they compliment someone but indirectly boost their own ego. "Who are you?" you didn't even bother to acknowledge the comment. You didn't want to give her a chance to deflect the question.

"Silly me," the Hispanic fakes a giggle, "I haven't introduce myself." Just as she was going to say her name, her smile turned into a frown when she saw Danny's bright blue eyes were on you two and he was still standing in the same spot. She scoffed, "I thought I told you to buzz off, loser."

"Right—right!" Danny nervously chuckled as he raised his hands in surrender and taking a step backwards. His eyes glanced at yours in panic. "I'll just be over—"

He began to turn away after he made his eye contact with you, but you were faster when you reached out to him. No one was expecting you to grabbed his wrist swiftly stopping him from moving any further as he jolted from the unexpected touch. The rude girl raised a surprised eyebrow at your action. You felt bad for Danny as he looked even more nervous. You didn't mean to be bold and familiar, but it was to get his and her attention that he didn't have to listen to her. "Excuse me," you cleared your throat politely, "but that's my friend you're talking to."

You assumed she didn't take you seriously. She laughed heartily and pointed a finger at the scene in front of her before saying, "I know you're new and all, but that's hilarious." She continued laughing while you stood quietly until she was done. You felt Danny squirmed at the awkward atmosphere and you let go of his wrist. You glanced at him with an eyebrow raised mentally asking him what was wrong with her and what was so funny. She finally silenced her laughing when she started calming down. "Listen, sweetie," she said while coming closer to you and putting a hand on your shoulder. You glanced appallingly at it and gave her the same look as she continued, "You're so out of his league; friendship intentions or not."

You sighed finally out of frustration from the amount of hogwash that was coming from her mouth. Lifting her hand from your shoulder and leaving it in the air, you turned to Danny. Gently turning him around and pushing him with your small hand in the middle of his back, you grumbled under your breath, "And I'm so not in the mood to deal with this." With the other hand, you waved goodbye from over your shoulder at the nameless Hispanic, "Thanks for the heads up, whatever your name is."
