Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?

PART 1: THE INTROVERT LOVE

ANDREI.

'Today, I'm going to ask her officially kung sasagutin niya na ba ako.'

Magkahalong kaba at excitement ang aking nararamdaman while my father is talking to the waiter for our order. Today, I am going to ask my Dianne to be my girlfriend. She can't say yes until her "moma" can talk to the both of us ni papa.

I met Dianne when I was still in high school. I joined music club dahil I'm good at playing guitar. I used to write music for my mom also. I was still in first year and Dianne was second year HS that time. She's serving the club as the vice-mayor.

When I first saw her talk in front, I was mesmerized by her beauty talaga. She's just simple, she doesn't like to wear make-up kaya angat talaga ang kanyang kagandahan sa iba. And when she started singing, I was like in cloud 9.

Until she became the reason of every lyrics I wrote.

"You're bubblier than bubbly,
You're sweeter than candy,
You're voice is the sanctuary,
Of my soul, my darling..."

I became excited in going to school and in attending our club. However, I can't express my feelings towards her. Siyempre, we're still young and wala kaming chances na magkausap masyado dahil iba ang ka group niya sa club namin.

I was second year already. Still, I joined music club with another reason- her. I really tried my best to talk to her pero hindi ko talaga ma tiyempuhan especially na naging busy na siya dahil she became our club mayor.

"Drei, don't forget your guitar tomorrow ha. Please also practice playing the song "Everything I Own for tomorrow" salaysay ni Fred.

"Sige kuya." then I nodded.

"Sana, maging successful bukas" he added.
Tumango lang ako at ngumit.

The day after that, we were all called by our club adviser for a special announcement. It was 4 in the afternoon at nandun na kami lahat sa assembly hall. All of us were wearing red shirt, and they are also excited. I was busy tuning my guitar para sa presentation namin while I saw kuya Fred preparing para kumanta.

"Alam niyo naman diba kung anong special announcement ko???" Our club adviser asked while grinning. Everyone said yes except me because I don't want to join their hype.

"Guys! Andito na si Dianne" dianne went inside the hall, she's wearing white shirt with a ponytail. Still, she's beautiful without make-up.
As she walk towards us, shocked. I started to strum my guitar. And kuya Fred starts singing the lines...

"You sheltered me from harm

Then everyone started singing softly the lines...

"And I would give anything I own
I'd give up my life, my heart, my own
And I would give anything I own
Just to have you back again..."

"Dianne, I was wrong when I let you go. Hindi na ako makatulog sa kakaisip. Nung makipag break ka sa akin at wala akong ginawa, I knew that I was wrong." Salaysay ni Kuya Fred while holding the hands of Dianne.

I was feeling jealous. Totally jealous. I am just a nobody whose admiring Dianne while Kuya Fred has everything. He's tall, handsome and running for valedictorian. I know na magiging masaya si Dianne sa kanya.

"Dianne, can I court you again?" And then all of us stopped. Everyone was waiting for Dianne's reply. Even I got excited kung ano ang isasagot niya. But still, I was hoping na sana mag NO siya pero hindi ko ito pinapahalata.
