Hello everyone! I found this in my reserve of (only too many) completed, yet not published stories. I've been looking over this particular one and devising the best course of action, editing and revising hundreds of times, and now, I think... maybe... it's ready to be seen by the general public.
I figured I'd give you all something to hold onto as I take my time completing my other series'!
Hope you enjoy!

"You must let him die, Merlin," the Great Dragon warned.
"I can't," Merlin insisted. "He's only a boy."
"A boy whose destiny is to cause Camelot and Arthur Pendragon to fall."
"I can't. I won't do it."
The great dragon heaved a large sigh. "Very well," he conceded. Merlin turned to walk back to the upper levels of the castle, but the dragon stopped him. "Young warlock," he called, "if you do not kill the boy, then you must do something else, or risk the end of all you hold dear."
The warlock hesitated, looking back over his shoulder at the beast. "What is it?" Naturally, he feared the worst.
"You must find the young girl Ariella and take her to the druids who harbor the druid boy Mordred."
Merlin hesitated for another moment before he turned fully to face Kilgarrah. "Who is she?"
"She is your other half," he said. "It is her power that completes yours. And she is your only hope to save Camelot."
Merlin took a step toward the dragon, a vast mixture of emotions flooding him. "Why didn't you tell me of this sooner?"
"She must only be released when the time is right. Releasing such a powerful being at the wrong time could end only in utmost disaster," Kilgarrah told him seriously. "It is she who truly sets in motion your destiny to help Arthur Pendragon complete his destiny to unite Albion. Without her, there will be no Albion."
"What do you mean when you say she's my 'other half?'"
"She is much like you, young warlock. But she was born by magic through the Old Religion. The sun, the moon, and the earth all took part in her creation. Unlike you, she has no human parents. In spite of your differences, however, she is your partner."
"But... How?"
"Her magic is what completes yours. In order for you to reach your true potential, you need your loyal friend and equal by your side."
The warlock hesitated again, but only for a moment. "What must I do?"
"You must travel to the very outskirts of Camelot," the dragon said. "In the direction of the Crystal Cave. If you continue forward, you will reach a lake. In this lake, there are merpeople who guard many of their past kings and queens preserved within ice. In the very center, she will be found amongst the royalty. She is deep within the lake, but your power is drawn to hers like magnetism. You will know where to find her."
"How am I to get there?"
"There is a weed called Moriart, which you must eat for three days prior to arriving at the lake. When you get there, you must speak an enchantment in the sacred language of the merpeople, and then you can breathe in those waters."
"If she's guarded, how will I get to her?"
"You must tell them who you are. They know of her destiny, and they will let you pass with ease." Merlin nodded, thinking for a moment before he was struck by a sudden question.
