Pier Pressure

"Hey, Dinah wants me to tell you that if you want to go the pier now, then you have to be ready in ten minutes."
"How long since she told you, Wally?"
"Thirty seconds ago."
"Quit sprinting around before breakfast, Wally," Artemis scolded as she sat up and rubbed her eyes.
"It was more of a brisk jog."
"Wait outside." She stretched her body, as he closed the door. Artemis stood and opened her closet. She pulled a pair of black tights on and a green shorts that end mid thigh. She replaced her oversize tee with a size too large green knitted cardigan. Artemis slipped her converse on and walked out, shoving her hair into a ponytail holder. Dinah had dragged her to a hair salon and a quarter of the hair she previously had was gone. Which had been fine with her at the time because it went past her butt, once the shears cut it, she started panicking slightly. She sort of missed the blanket like quality it had but now she could hold her head up instead of it slightly tilting backward. She hadn't notice that until now. She opened the door and Wally stood there, bouncing up and down as if he couldn't stand still, of course, he couldn't. He was constantly moving in one spot if he wasn't walking, running, eating, or sleeping. Though he did stop when watching television, much to everyone's joy, a bouncing couch sort of ruins the whole lazy day. Artemis linked their elbows and started walking.
"So, Supernatural's good. I mean, I want to punch everyone but Cas. Definitely a Dean's girl."
"Sam?"
"His hair's too long."
"You're such a hypocrite, your hair went past your butt."
"Why were you staring at my butt?" She smirked, for a moment forgetting the real reason she didn't Sam. He reminded her to much of her. Except if she had a sibling like Dean maybe she'd turned out better.
"N-n-no," he stumbled, blushing. "It's a nice-"
"Stop your rambling before you say something you regret."
"Smart, I'll shut up now."

"Waffles," Artemis said, pointing with her fork at her plate then mouth. "Are better than pancakes, because waffles hold the syrup or whatever crap you put on your breakfast."
"Like eggs," Wally replied, placing a scoop of eggs on his waffle, folded it then shoved it in his mouth. He chewed and raised a thumb up in approval of the meal. "Let's make waffle tacos someday."
"We'll have it with our morning marathon."
"Marathon? Like the running?" He asked excitedly, Artemis rolled her eyes.
"How come we're the only ones here? Is everyone else still asleep?"
"Megan and Zatanna are definitely awake, I don't know about Robin and Koy though." She figured he had lied about the ten minute thing.
"Koy?"
"I didn't feel like saying Roy and Kaldur," he shrugged and shoveled eggs and bacon into his mouth.
"How long have you been up?" Robin asked, walking into the room sleepily.
"Fifteen minutes," Artemis muttered, rubbing sleep from her eyes, he hadn't given her time to wash her face.
"Hours," Wally said smiling. Robin looked at his friend in disgust.
"Morning people," he hissed. Scratch sleepily, it was a bit more like tiredly as he appeared to want to kill someone. It was Roy and-sorry Koy who walked in next. Roy glaring at everything and Kaldur stoic as usual. Wally bounced up piled more food on his plate and grabbed three glasses of orange and apple juice in one hand. He folded eggs and bacon into a pancake, dripped syrup into his mouth followed by the pancake taco before even seating down. Artemis gagged slightly.
"How is it possible that when I look at you at breakfast you always manage to gross me out with your eating habits?" She muttered.
"It's a talent."

The pier which had year round roller coasters and game booths. Artemis's widened slightly when a roller coaster shot through the air at what from the ground looked like it could break the sound barrier.
"Let's go on that," she pointed to the barrier breaker roller coaster.
"Can we go to the bumper cars first?" Zatanna asked. "I like to work my way up."
"There are twelve rides in the whole park, two of them are kid rides so really the only people that could go on them are me and Zattana," Robin said. "That leaves ten rides we can go on without fear of being squashed. There's about five games and maybe an odd booth. If Megan is the one who asks then Dinah will probably let us stop at the beach for awhile. We're here for five hours, less if Roy and Conner can't keep their Hulks in for that time."
"Wordy. You've really planned this haven't you, Robin?" Artemis said. Robin turned to Roy, Kaldur, Megan, and Conner.
"I assume you guys were separate from the group?"
"Little bird, you shouldn't hate us because we have a significant other, I'm sure Zatanna will ask you out soon," Roy smirked, Robin glared at a him.
"Bye," Kaldur said, dragging Roy along with him.
"We're going to go eat cotton candy!" Megan smiled broadly, holding Conner's hand then they walked off together.
"So, bumper cars?" Artemis asked.

"Hey, Arty, I won this for you!" Wally said, holding out a large green teddy bear. Artemis smiled.
"Thanks, Wally," she said, affectionally touching the bear's snout.
"There's an archery game, you wanna go try it?"
"Definitely. You'll have to hold my bear though," she smiled once more and kissed Wally on the cheek. Zatanna and Robin returned from the cotton candy machine holding five gigantic cotton candies. Robin handed three to Wally and one to Artemis, sharing the fifth with Zatanna.
"Let's go kick some target's butt," Wally said enthusiastically.

"Finally," Artemis muttered, looking the large coaster up and down. She had wanted to go on since she saw it, Artemis started walking to get in the line.
"I don't think I can stomach that," Zatanna said.
"We just ate!" Robin exclaimed. Artemis and Wally glanced at each other.
"Wimps," he said, getting in line.
"Wally, I thought you were s-" Robin was cut off by Zatanna's elbow to his stomach.

It take almost half an hour to get on the ride. It would have taken longer if Starling City was a tourist place. While it held loads of billionaires, it definitely was scary as crime rate was higher than most states.
"Wally, are you okay?" Artemis asked. He looked...green and terrified. This was a vomit-y look.
"I was going to be valedictorian," he randomly said. "Except my best friend jumped off this roller coaster and I was enrolled in the program."
"Wally, we're about ten seconds into the ride, why didn't you just tell me you didn't want to go on this?"
"You've wanted to go on it since we got here." The ride turned, going faster, and faster, till they seemed like a bullet train.
"That isn't a reason, Wally!" She yelled, grabbing his hand because he had looked like he was about to hyperventilate. "It's almost over," she shouted over the wind. The ride slowed to a stop after about two minutes and Artemis helped the employes peel him from the chair. She draped his arm around her shoulders and helped him walk until Zatanna and Robin rushed them.
"You're an idiot!" She yelled at Wally.
"And you're idiots for not keeping him off the ride! You!" She pointed at Robin. "You obviously knew!"
"Guys, you should go, I'll calm her down." Wally said, she looked at him and seethed. Zatanna and Robin scrambled, not getting away quicker.
"You know, you're the smartest person I know, why did you do something so stupid."
"Because you wanted to go on it," he answered calmly.
"So if I jump off a cliff-"
"I'd probably follow with an extra parachute," he interjected.
"Damn it, Wally, you scared me," her tone still accusing but less like an interrogation.
"Hopefully, I'll do it again for a different reason," he didn't know why he did but he kissed her. He finally had built the confidence to kiss her. It hadn't taken a year, it had taken five seconds to scare her for a different reason.

I've been finally a bit gutsy and romantic this past week. Both fanfictions end with a kiss.
