Luke's Pov:
I tapped my leg nervously, watching the clock...

30 more seconds...

Okay school is over.

I quickly got my stuff then walked out the door. I pulled out my phone and texted April:

L: School today?

She hasnt been in school for a couple days now because she is sick. I guess it was more than a stomach bug. She started getting insane headaches, her nose started bleeding randomly and now she feels too weak.

I started my car and was about to drive until I heard my phone go off, notifying me that I got a text.

A: nope, my mom took me to the doctors. now we are waiting for results. I'll call you when I get them
A: wrote back soon ;)
L: wrote back soon ;)

Aprils Pov:

I just want to know what kind of virus I have and wait type of shit medicine do I have to take and finally I can stop feeling like shit.

I felt someone take my hand and I looked up, my mom was smiling at me, "you okay? Feeling any better?"

"I feel the same..."

The doctor walked in and gave us a small smile, she sat down and took a deep breath.

I had a bad feeling and not just the aches all over my body. I had a bad feeling about what she is going to say...

"April, I'm very sorry..but we took some tests and we called someone from the hospital to conform...you have leukemia..I'm very sorry, we will start treatment right away-"

She kept talking on but I wasn't listening...I couldn't..my mother was now sobbing and had her arm around me. I didn't know how to feel.

I know the doctor is taking abut doing treatment but I know...I'm going to die..

Luke.

I have to tell Luke.

I screamed inside my head.

Luke's Pov:

I walked through my front door worrying about April. She's okay, I know she's okay.

"Luke?" I heard my mom call from the kitchen. "Yeah?" I replaced walking in.

She had work spread all over the counter and she was wearing her reading glasses, "hey, how was school?"

"Boring," I dropped my backpack by the stairs and walked to the refrigerator to get a soda.

She chuckled and looked back at her laptop, "the usual, have you heard from April? Is she feeling better?"

She's at the doctors and she didn't go to school-"

I was interrupted by my phone ringing and Aprils named popped up, "it's her, I'll be right back, mom."

She waved me off and smiled.
