Chapter 19~

Luke's Pov:

April ended up falling asleep on my shoulder, then her parents and my mom came in to see how we were doing. Her mom and my mom smiled, her dad put and arm around Aprils mom, Melany.

I felt awkward so I slowly slipped out from under her making sure she didn't wake up.

I slowly walked toward the door where they are standing. My mom rubbed my shoulder and we all walked out. My mom said goodbye to Melany but they kept going on with a different conversation.

Luke's dad, James, turned to me and put a hand on my shoulder, "Luke, thank you for being there for April. The next few weeks are going to be very hard and I need you to be prepared. I also need you to do a favor for me." I nodded.

"I need you to make sure the rest of April's life is good. Make sure she so doesn't spend the rest of it cooped up in the room watching movies. If you need anything for this favor, I will give it to you."

I stuck out my hand, "I promise her life will be the best."

April's Pov:

I was falling.

Now underwater sinking to the bottom.

I was trying to scream for help but nothing was coming out.

I was trying to move but I couldn't.

I couldn't breath. I was trying to breath but I couldn't. I heard pounding and realized it was my heart. Then I heard high pitched beeping.

I woke up screaming and a bunch of nurses ran into my room doing something with the machines and yelling things to each other. There was a pain in my chest and I kept screaming.

I screamed and cried then finally everything went black.

Luke's Pov:

12:27 am

My phone rang, waking me up I looked over to see who it was: Melany

I quickly picked it up, "hello?"

"Luke, April had trouble breathing during the night and she just woke up but I wanted to tell you. "

I got up out of bed turning on my light, "I'm on my way."

"They aren't allowing people to see her except family, even though she is asking for you nonstop.."

"I have to be there-"

"Oh honey, your love is inspiring..come when you wake up."

"I-"

"That would be best.."

I sighed, "okay."

I hung up and tried to sleep but I couldn't. I went downstairs and saw my mom in the living room watching a movie, "Luke?"

I told her what happened and she got up and hugged me, "you could use a drink."

I looked at her like, 'can I?'

She laughed and said, "you already know the answer to that."

"Yes?"

"No ya little shit," she said laughing again and I started laughing too. "Anyway I'm going upstairs to bed, you can stay down here and watch tv or whatever. Goodnight."
