Paris' POV
"What you mean you got a date with Tre?" Cynthia asked, looking unamused."Yup, this Saturday." I said sipping on my wine. I think I'm addicted.
The girls and I were having a chill day at my house since we all had a day off. We'd make sure to do this at least once a month.
"I never liked him and still don't." Danchea interjected. Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Come on guys. It's been what? Three years and some months since I haven't had a male companion other than Amari. I just wanna get back out there." They all looked at me as I spoke.
"You guys are all happy with your boos. The one I wanted is gone. I want that void to be filled. I know you might not like Tre, but give him a chance. I'm not that naive 17 year old anymore." I was starting to get emotional. My voice shook.
"Look Paris, we're sorry. We want you to be happy, we really do. I may not like him, but whatever you wanna do I'm right behind you." Everyone else agreed with Antonique's statement.
I swear I love my girls to death. "Okay, now that that's out the way. Those bundles came in yet?" I asked Cynthia. She and I decided to make our businesses one. She deals with deliveries, while I deal with hair styling.
"Only the Lace Frontal Wigs, Closure Wigs and Bob Wigs reach right now." She answered. I nodded.
"In every inch?" I asked. She nodded.
"I have a question. Why you work if your boyfriend famous?" Mamí asked. I was hoping Cynthia wouldn't flip. She hated being asked that.
"I'm not a leech. He's in his bag and I wanna be in mine. Never make a nigga think he all you gat, he could use that shit against you." She answered. I looked at her surprised. She actually kept it cool.
"You right." Mamí nodded.
"I'm gonna go check on the kids." I got up and walked out. I walked over to Mari's playroom. Antonique stopped me.
"Paris. How've you been?" She asked in a serious tone.
"I'm fine, why?" I was confused.
"No I mean. How've you been.." she held my hand and looked at me.
I shut my eyes tightly. "Not so great. I know it's been three years, but I'm still not over it Toni. He was supposed to be here. I was supposed to be gone." My hands shook.
"And then every time his date of death comes around, people keep calling, asking if I'm okay. It's frustrating because I'm not. And i feel like it's all practice. I feel like they do it just to take away guilt. I miss him and I hate fact that I had to deal with two kids alone." I spoke. I never told anyone this.
"Paris. He'd want you to move on. You have to let go of that pain, he's gone and he's not coming back. You deserve to be happy and get back out there. I know it's hard, but I'm here for you. The girls are here for you. Your momma, Armoni, Parker. We're all here for you." She hugged me tightly as the tears drained down my face.
She's right. I have to get over this, he'd want me to. I pulled away a wiped my tears. "Thank you" I said softly.
She smiled and went back into my room.
I opened Mari's door and peeped inside. His room was filled with kids. There was Junior, Malacai, King(Antonique's son), Kaynia (Cynthia's daughter) JJ(Mamí's son) and Amari .
