I am Gilgamesh
King of all men
Leader of all lands
Immortal beyond all immortals
Warrior beyond all warriors
But I would be nothing
Without my trusted friend
My beloved friend Enkidu
This kingdom is nothing
Compared to our love
The gods made him
Out of clay with their hands
And then out of water
Only to be cast out into the wild
Nobody but the animals to raise him
So uncivilized
Only ate food off the ground
While I dined in the finest tables
Wore the finest clothes
In the finest palaces
This man-beast was caught
Sleeping with a harlot
He spent so much time in my world
He couldn't return to his old one
So he stayed in the civilized world
I was told to fight him
And we fought well
I fought that man-beast and trained him
We were so different
Yet we were inseparable
We went on many adventures
Crossed many lands
Crossed many baddies and foes
We were the heroes of a lifetime
We were the new millennia
Was a partnership to beat all partnerships
Then my friend Enkidu got sick
He got very sick
I asked the gods to help him
But it was no use
My friend was gone
I cannot go on without him
I want to live forever
So I can love forever
I am the King
I should have what I want
I sought immortality
Until I realized something
I am immortality
One day, all this will be gone
But my influence, my legacy
Will be intact
It will be here
To inspire and influence
Millions upon millions of people
For it is true
The body may die
But the soul is forever
Just like true love
Love can be squashed
Or delayed
Or burned
Or stabbed
But never destroyed or killed
Death cannot stop love
My beloved Enkidu
You are forever
My Kingdom is forever
And death cannot stop us
Death gets us all
But time never will
For we are all timeless
