"then you came, found me.
no other magic could ever compare"☁︎
The concert finally came to an end. The crowd almost immediately begun splitting in all directions, collectively shifting towards the closest way out of the hall. Haru took a glance around, only to realise the man was nowhere to be seen.
A pity. She thought.
As she pushed the exit door open, she was greeted by the velvet dark night sky. She hadn't realise that it was already late, later than she had thought.
She fetched her phone out from her back pocket, checking the available public transport timings. She let out a groan only to realise that walking was her only viable option. It's times like this that she wished she had taken her driver's license.
Leaving with no options, she embarked on her journey home. The concert had completely consumed her energy, leaving her feeling drained. The thought of her in between her comfy sheets with her favourite silk pyjamas after coming out fresh from a hot shower motivated her to pick up the pace.
As she took a left from the exit door, she spotted a familiar man resting against the pillar parallel from her, seemingly waiting for someone.
As his eyes attentively scanned the area, they landed on Haru who was walking towards his direction. He kicked his heels off the wall, standing upright to face the one person he was expecting.
"The concerts over. Are you're still here to protect me?" Haru let out a chuckle whilst giving a teasing look.
He shook his head slowly, scoffing a little from her bold remark targetted towards him then shortly returning to his slightly-less serious mood.
"Come on, let me walk you home. It's late."
"What... do you know me?" Haru could only afford to make up those pathetic counter words, eye-ing the ground and trying not to show that she was flustered.
"I'd like to." He replied with a firm tone.
Her eyes immediately lifted, shifting from the ground to his face. The grin on Haru's face disappeared, her lips parted slightly as she was perplexed by his sudden confession. The 'good-natured' man baffled her.
At this moment, any sane person would advice her to make a run, run for her life. It was peculiar to have a stranger walk you home. Haru knew better than that, the uncanny list of possibilities visible and clear in her head.
Still, she pondered upon his offer. She didn't want to admit that her final answer would be mentally unsound.
Ya... Kang Haru. You can't be serious! You don't know this man. God knows he might be a stalker! Or a serial killer! A stalking serial killer!
Haru's thoughts clogged her mind. But why is her heart urging her to take up the offer?
She shook her head, brushing off the provocative voices whispering in her ears. She made sure to register the words in her head.
Just politely say no. Just politely say no. Just politely say n—
"Sure?"
Haru blurted, internally cursing herself. The man, who seemed satisfied, signalled her to demonstrate the way.
