✨ time skip ✨
clay and vincent sat next to each other on the couch, both of them holding a plate of homemade waffles that they had made together.
the room was fairly silent, a few birds chirping outside really being the only thing you could hear, unless you really listened and paid attention to the other's breathing.
vincent could only think about that one spotify playlist by clay, and how it could only mean one thing.
clay, on the other hand, could only think about his plans for today, and he was constantly imagining the worst scenarios.
rejection, fake answers, or straight up being cut off from vincent, by vincent.
while clay was hyperventilating in his own mind, vincent was silently glancing at him as clay spaced out, completely unaware. eventually his waffles were completely done, but he didn't get up. vincent just continued to stare at clay, various romantic ideas flooding his head.
clay sat on the couch by the window, and as he stared outside while panicking, vincent noticed his empty plate.
he thought for a moment before getting up and casually grabbing clay's plate along with his own.
clay snapped out of his panicked state, and looked up at vincent, a bright shade of pink dusted his cheeks.
"thank you."
vincent turned around and gave clay a quick nod. he then headed to the sink, washed both if their plates, loaded them into the dishwasher, and went into his room.
clay then quickly followed suit and went into his own room.
he had the song memorized, and now all he had to do was spending the rest of the morning practicing his ability to play it flawlessly.
just an hour or two.
well, just an hour or two was soon interrupted by a series of knocks on clay's door. he quickly threw his guitar under his bed and pretended to be browsing youtube on his laptop, again.
"come in!"
vincent peered through the door.
"hey. i was just about to shower so i just wanted to make sure you weren't about to or anything."
right. showers. the basic, daily hygiene. food. clay couldn't spend all his time practicing. sure, today had to be perfect, or at least as perfect as it could get, but clay realized that his health still mattered.
"oh, no, go ahead. i do need to shower soon though... but, uh, feel free to shower now," clay managed to say.
"alrighty. do you, uh, wanna do something later?" a light yet visible shade of pink spreading across his cheeks.
clay took notice of his cheeks, but stayed silent about it.
of course clay wanted to something later, but his plans for today would get in the way if it was anytime before sunset.
"uh, sure! maybe we could walk around the neighborhood during the night? y'know, after the sun sets?" clay responded, hoping vincent would agree.
