Magic

I froze in the middle of blowing up a bubble. It popped and I pulled it back in my mouth.

"So Bailey was right. I am a witch. A cursed one." I said "Witches are evil."

"No, Ellie, that's where you're wrong. Witches and wizards aren't evil unless they chose the wrong path. You, dear girl, are good. I am good. Your father is good. When you were born, we knew straight away you were magical - just like us. However, you are more special than others. You are one of a kind. There is no one else in the world like you, El." my mother said.

I shook my head "You're wrong. The teachers used to whisper about a boy who was just like me and committed suicide because of it."

"That's incorrect. We know who they are talking about, but they are wrong. Trust us, Ellie. We are right. You are magical. You are good. And there is a special school your father and I went to called Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You will most likely be accepted there because your father and I are both magical. We also sent the headmaster a letter explaining your situation." my mother continued "You won't have to go to another muggle school again."

"What's a muggle?" I asked.

"A person who isn't magical," my father said "If you do get accepted into Hogwarts, you will receive a letter with the list of things you will need. Then we will take you to a place called Diagon Alley so we can get your stuff." I felt excited. But then my hopes went plummeting.

"They won't accept me. I'm too dangerous. I've got a curse, remember? You said no one can do what I do. They can't teach what they don't know." Suddenly a blinding white light filled the room. I shielded my eyes. When I looked back up, a man was standing there. He had long white hair, and a twinkle in his blue eyes with a kind smile.

"Hello there. Forgive me for interrupting, dear, but you are quite wrong. You must be Ellie Bayards. I am Professor Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry."
