It had been three years since Sohye and Mingyu started dating. They were finally living together after one year of Mingyu going back and forth from his parent's place to Sohye's place. Sohye could safely say at that point that she was over Wonwoo. It had been three years. If she wasn't over him by now, then she would've checked herself into a mental hospital.

Two years ago, Sohye and Mingyu were taking a walk in the local park when their lives changed. Nothing bad happened, but Mingyu was scouted by a local modeling agency, and while Mingyu wanted to decline the offer, Sohye was thrilled. Mingyu was tall, handsome, and kind. He would be a great model. She pushed him into becoming a model.

"I'm honestly quite happy not being famous, though," Mingyu admitted.

"It's not for you to be famous, baby," Sohye shook her head. "You're really handsome, and I think it would be so cool to see you on a billboard, or in a magazine! My friends are always talking about how you could be a successful model."

"Are you sure about this?" Mingyu asked. "Once I sign with them, there's no going back."

Sohye nodded. Mingyu signed. That same year, he got so busy with his new job that he barely spent time in the apartment. That being said, every second he was with Sohye, he showered her with affection. Sohye had no doubt that Mingyu would be there for her no matter what. She trusted him. That was all that mattered, even if she got unbearably lonely sometimes.

Two years into his career, Sohye could see him start to break down. He came home with the same cute grin she fell in love with, but his eyes were faded. The life was being sucked out of him. She told him to get some rest- a week or so. He told her he'd be just fine after sleeping for a good eight hours.

The nights that Mingyu spent in the apartment were starting to get scarce. If Mingyu was home, Sohye would do anything and everything for him so that he didn't strain himself at all. Mingyu appreciated her a lot. He loved her. In fact, he loved her so much that he started saving some of the money he made from his gigs to buy a ring. That was how much he loved her.

One night, the two were laying in bed. Mingyu's arms were wrapped around her waist. He pressed his lips against her forehead and gave her a soft kiss. Sohye's eyes fluttered open. She looked up at Mingyu. He looked sad.

"Sohye, I love you," Mingyu whispered.

"I love you, too, Mingyu," Sohye whispered back.

Mingyu's arms tightened around Sohye, and for the first time in their relationship, Sohye felt fear. Not the same fear that she had when she was with Wonwoo, but a new fear- a fear that everything was just going to get worse from there. She tried to shake the feeling and went to sleep. The next morning, Mingyu wasn't in the apartment. He had rushed off to work again.

Mingyu ended up buying her that ring, but he wasn't certain about when he should give it to her. He wanted to get the proposal just right. The date, the location, the time of day- if they all weren't perfect, then it wouldn't feel right. Mingyu ended up stick the ring in a safe place in his dresser and forgot about the ring; it wasn't that he forgot that it existed, it was that he was so busy with work that he didn't have time to think about the ring. The ring would have to wait for now. Sohye would have to wait for now.
