"Nayoung, I don't understand! I thought he loved me," Sohye wailed into Nayoung's arms.
Sohye was so sad about her breakup that she holed herself in her apartment for a week. She lived in the same pair of pajamas for that week, and her hair was a rats nest since she didn't maintain herself that entire week. Nayoung, her friend and coworker, and the same girl who introduced her to Mingyu, patted her head and said, "I'm sorry, Sohye. I really feel for you. I thought he was the one too."
"He told me he loved me," Sohye said in between sobs. "He told me over and over again how much he loved me. How could he just cheat on me like that?"
Nayoung frowned and nodded. She continued patting Sohye's head and back as Sohye's sobs quieted down to little sniffs. Silent tears still flowed from her eyes and she sat back and wiped the tears from her eyes. Nayoung rubbed Sohye's knee and thought about Mingyu's sudden break up with the girl and how weird that was.
"Do you think he was lying?" Nayoung asked.
"About loving me?" Sohye sniffed.
"No, about him having another girl," Nayoung pondered out loud. "How did he have enough time to fit in his schedules, that girl, and coming home to you? It doesn't make sense."
"Maybe he lied about being so busy with schedules? Maybe he was seeing her behind my back and telling me he had schedules?" Sohye was ready to cry all over again.
"Okay, let's stop thinking about it," Nayoung gave Sohye another quick hug to cut off the girl from crying again. "Let's watch something. What do you want to watch? A movie?"
"No, a drama. I want to watch the most romantic drama and cry about being single," Sohye sniffed as she got up. "I have to go to the bathroom."
"Okay, I'll turn on the drama in the meantime," Nayoung nodded.
Sohye shot her friend a weak smile before trudging off to the bathroom. After Sohye disappeared into the bathroom, Nayoung turned around and turned on the TV. The second she turned on the TV, though, her stomach made a dying whale noise. Nayoung sighed to herself as she stood up and went to the kitchen to grab herself some food, the news continuously playing on the screen. As she grabbed a packet of chips, there was loud tone followed by a news anchor reporting, "Breaking News! Model Kim Mingyu as been admitted to the hospital after collapsing in the middle of a shoot!"
"What?" Nayoung screamed.
She ran back to the living room and stared at the television screen to see pictures of Mingyu in a stretcher being put into an ambulance. She gaped at the screen as the anchor continued reporting this shocking revelation.
"Model Kim Mingyu was slated to appear in several fashion shows during fashion week, but he suddenly collapsed during his latest shoot for Vogue. He was rushed to the hospital immediately," the anchor continued.
"What?" Sohye said as she emerged from the bathroom. "What?"
"Sohye, Mingyu, he-" Nayoung stammered.
"As of right now, his representatives are saying that his condition is stable, but they do not know what caused him to collapse. We'll keep you updated as the story unfolds," concluded the announcer.
"I need to go," Sohye said as the news switched to an advertisement. "I need to go see him."
Nayoung turned the TV off and said, "Do you really think that's a good idea?"
Sohye scrambled around her apartment and changed her clothes. She also threw her hair into a messy bun and looked for her keys as Nayoung followed the girl around.
"I just know that he needs to be with someone that cares for him, right now. His family lives far from here, so it'll probably take them a while to get up here. He needs the company," Sohye rambled out.
"Are you sure you want to go see him, though?" Nayoung stopped her as Sohye started putting her shoes on at the door.
"I... I don't know," Sohye admitted. "He hurt me, but right now, he must be in more pain than me. I have to go see him."
"Then I guess I can't stop you," Nayoung sighed and gave her a small smile.
Sohye smiled back and hugged her friend before dashing out of her apartment. She had to go see Mingyu- she needed to make sure he was okay.
