The three boys immediately stop, staring at my eldest brother."Have you not seen your younger sister?! who is staring at you in pure fear" He states harshly
The arguing boys' eyes dart to me, the two boys, who I assumed were twins stare back sympathetically however Rocco sends me a glare, I look down with embarrassment
"You boys know better!" he says, pointing towards the three
He walks over and sits at the head of the table, placing his iPad in front of him. The rest of the boys follow and sit in the free spaces.
Grayson looks towards me.
"So... Evie, the two boys who look like the exact same person are Xander and Xavier and then this moody one is Rocco" he says
"Hi" I mumble to them all
Rocco scoffs, drawing the attention of everyone, even Vincent.
"Care to comment on something Rocco" Vince says
"Yeah I do actually" he spits "So because she is now here Vince magically appears for dinner?!" he asks
"Yes" Vince answers simply
"So what? she gets special treatment because her mother killed herself? Vince didn't magically appear for dinner when dad died" he shouts glaring at me
I stare at him in shock, tears prick my eyes as the dreadful image of my mom is placed back in my head. I hold back the lump in my throat, my brothers couldn't see me cry, not on my first day here.
"Rocco!" Greyson shouts
"Fuck this" he spits pushing himself out of the table and slamming the chair underneath.
I flinch at his outburst and sink deeper into the large hoodie I'm wearing
"Rocco torna qui adesso!" Blake shouts
"Blake leave him, let him cool off" Vince says "Evanna I apologise for his actions, that was unacceptable and he will be punished" Vince adds
"Okay" I nod quietly
A woman in her late sixties walks in, plates on her arms. She places each plate in front of everyone. I look down at my dish, a large bowl of spaghetti bolognese with small green herbs sprinkled at the top. I felt sick, I couldn't eat all of this however I really don't want to let my brothers down, so I force it.
"Is it nice bambina?" Grayson asks
I force a smile
"Yeah, its delicious" I reply
I mean it wasn't really a lie, it was amazing its just I'm not used to eating full meals and this was a full meal. Back at home a portion was usually just split in half with my mom. I finish eating with just half the bowl left, I couldn't eat anymore.
"Is that all your gonna eat?" Xavier asks drawing the attention of everyone apart from Vince, who was still staring at the iPad
"I'm uh just not used to eating big portions" I say nervously
"Are you sure you haven't eaten half of it" Xavier says
Vince glances up at me in the corner of his eye.
"Yeah I'm just not very hungry" I reassure
"okay then bambina" Xavier finishes
I sit there awkwardly, waiting for the others to finish
"Evanna if you have finished you may be excused " Vince says gaining my attention
I look up at him and his dark eyes stare back at me.
