(chapter 8) a nice chat

*~Glitch's POV~*

'WTF ARE YOU DOING??' I roared in my head, gripping my practically already empty drink. Blade was signaling over Suger and her friend. I glared at him with full hatred and when the girls started walking this way and he stopped signaling them. He took a moment to look at me with a devilish grin and high eyebrows but as soon as he saw my face all those attributes lessened a little. He teleported two seats on the side of the window. Putting a seat closer to mine. As i saw this difference i looked back up at him, saying, "you wouldn't" "oh but yes i would" he replied with a wink and turned to the girls that just got to the table. Suger looked kinda awkward and stiff and she was looking solely at her ice cream, mixing it slowly with the little flimsy spoon they give you but her friend looked relaxed. Having her right hand on her hip and holding her ice cream. "Hello ladies! We were wondering-" he started to say in his, what i like to call, 'the radio announcer voice' yunno, those overly enthusiastic people who advertise stuff? But the weird thing is that, there's an 80% chance that his voice was genuine and not an act. But i interrupted him and sternly said, "YOU were wondering" then went right back to doing whatever the hell i was doing before i interrupted him. "OKKK... I was wondering if you would like to join us in our chat? Your not interrupting us. besides, these guys are getting boring" Suger smiled a little but then it faded as fast as it appeared. And he got the other girl to snicker. "Why not?" she asked, shrugging her shoulders. "Great! Luckily we had two seats left open, miss,..?" he motioned for Suger's friend to fill in the blanks of what her name was. "Pearl, and no need to be so formal" she chuckles. "Well, Pearl and Suger, why don't you take your seats?" ok, now he was pushing the happy attitude a little, i even heard Axe whisper to him when they started moving, "dude, tone it down a little, it's getting kinda weird, and probably even weirder for people who don't know you personally" Blade nodded. Pearl was the first to sit down, taking the seat closest to her, leaving... the one next to me open for Suger 'I SWEAR I'm going to kill him later' Suger took the seat and I put my empty cup down and rested my head on my hand, facing the direction of her. My eyes darting around, examining her. The bandages were starting to get old and she was staring very intently at her ice cream. My friends were starting to talk to Pearl, leaving and almost forcing us to sit in awkward silence or start a convo with each other. "So, what's so interesting about that ice cream?" i mumbled but i said it just loud enough for her to hear. Her ear twitched as she slowed down on mixing her food. "N-nothing really, i just don't have much to talk about" she replied in a small hushed voice. "Well aren't we in luck?" I asked, gaining some confidence. She looked at me and tilted her head. "I don't have anything to talk about either so um..yeah" I exclaimed, darting my eyes around then having them land on her. "Oh." she said, fixing her posture and taking a scoop of what just looked like strinkles but it revealed there was some vanilla ice cream mixed with it too. But before she took the bite she snickered to herself. "Wow, I thought you just got a cup of sprinkles," I said, gaining her attention once again. She laughed a little then reapplied, "if i could do that i would have.. Oh! I think i know something we could talk about"

"And what could that be?"

"What's your favorite topping?"

"Uh..that chocolate shell thing, like its a thin layer of chocolate that got frozen?"

"Oh yeah i know what your talking about, its really good, if it's not dark chocolate. i HATE dark chocolate, but my dad seems to love it, he says normal chocolate tastes too sweet"

I then noticed how quiet things got, not like around us but just at the table

"Well i would expect someone named Suger would like sweet things, but it would be funny if you started eating yourself" i said with a chuckle and i swore i heard a very small and quiet gasp. She sat there staring at me for just a few seconds before her face brightened and swiftly turned back to stare at her ice cream. I could tell she was fighting a smile too. She laughed a little bit and said something under her breath that I couldn't hear. I could feel my face starting to burn as well. She started laughing out of nowhere which got everyone's attention, which she probably already had since I have a feeling they quieted down to listen to our conversation. After a few quick seconds she calmed down enough to talk. "You smooth asshole!" she said jokingly through little laughs, while maintaining eye contact. 'Why does she have to be so cute??' I asked myself, while I started to laugh with her and as soon as my friends knew I didn't take it harshly they started to laugh too. After a few moments we all calmed down and Axe asked, "what was that for??" 'as if he didn't know' i thought. "Well this guy right here thought it was a good idea to flirt with me!" she said in an obviously joking tone, thank everything that she wasn't mad. I rolled my eyes and said, "well so far it has been" she looked over at me with narrow eyes, trying to look mad but her big smile wasn't helping. After a few seconds of a very amusing stare down she went back to her cup and took another bite. We all started talking with each other but I noticed that I was always at least slightly looking at Suger no matter who was talking.

"G-guys, i feel kinda dizzy" Suger said taking her last bite and using her free hand to hold her head. I pulled out my phone and glanced at the time. "Yeah, its 3:06." i said while putting my phone back in my pocket. She let out an unhappy grone. "Mhm, so, you should get home before you pass out" I went on, leaning back in my chair. But then Blade stood up and got out of his seat and pushed it in at a very fast speed and said, "well if she has a chance of passing out then it would be unsafe for her to go alone and i'm guessing you're gonna leave a little after she does so why don't you walk her to her dorm and we'll walk fine lady Pearl" Blade said in his go lucky voice. "I mean, I'm fine with it" Sugers friend said, standing up and stretching. "As long as i don't pass out then i'm ok with it too" she said, sinking into her seat, hugging her stomach. I was starting to feel really bad so I stood up and pushed in my chair as well, agreeing to the idea. "Alight see ya!" he said, winking at me and grabbing Axes arm and Pearls hand, having Axe teleporting them away leaving me and Suger alone. "They planned this didn't they?" i said out loud to no one in particular. I then heard a groan from Suger. I looked over at her with a thoughtful look and asked in the most gentle voice I could muster, "are you able to walk? If not i can just carry you" she shook her head and balled up even more. "Alright then. I'm gonna pick you up, ok?" she nods. I pick her up as gently as possible. Now her head was resting on my shoulder while her arms were weakly wrapped around my neck with her legs wrapped around my pelvis having the same amount of strength as her arms. Her ears, tail, and even wings were droopy. I pushed in her chair with my leg and started walking the way Suger and her friend were coming before all this. Without thinking my hand that was holding her back started rubbing it every once in a while. Eventually I got to the building's gate and looked at our dorm window. It was hard to see but it was open. I shifted my arms to see if Suger was awake or not. And as I expected she was dead asleep. So I opened my wings and lifted off as gently as jumping into the air can get. Surprisingly the only reaction I got while hovering in the air waiting to see if she would wake up was just that her arms and legs grabbed on a little bit tighter and she nuzzled my shoulder with an unpleasant groan. 'This girl is gonna be the death of me if she gets any cuter' I thought as I slowly started moving towards the window. I then landed on the cil and hopped through. I was now infront of her bed trying to put her down but she wouldn't let go. So I then used my hand that was holding her up and tried to remove her hands and legs and thankfully she complied and I got her to lay down. I used my magic to float her a little so I could grab the blanket from under her and then lay it on top of her. I did as so. I looked around in the semi-dark room and saw Sugers phone flashing that it was dead. So I decided to plug in her phone to my charger since I couldn't find hers. I let out a relieved sigh. But then my phone rang which in the midst of the silence sounded REALLY LOUD so i jumped and fumbled to grab it as fast as possible, and answered. I didn't even know who called. "Is this the dorm room, B802?" the lady asked from the otherside of the phone. "Yes.. who are you exactly..?" i asked, keeping my voice hushed as i sat on my bed, cross legged. "I'm the front desk lady as you children like to call me, i need a report on how Suger is doing so i can report back to the head office so they don't knock down her grade because she's missing accoupeus amounts of school" i paused and looked over at her. For the first time in awhile her body wasn't stressed looking. "The soonest she can come in is maybe at 12:00 tomorow but I doubt it.. Today's Wednesday, right? Then she'll probably get back the latest at friday. But even if she does come on Friday or tomorrow i don't think she can do gym" i explained. "Or at least the hard ones.." I added on silently. "Alright, if there's a change call the desk and tell us" "got it, bye" I said and slowly hung up just in case she forgot to say something. When the last beep of the dial tone played I slouched down letting out another side and looked back over to Suger, half lidded. "You owe me. Big time" i whispered. I didn't really expect anything big in return. The most I wanted was a not mindless "thank you". when someone does something nice for you so in an auto response you say thanks even if you don't mean it or the part of your brain responsible for saying thank you was on such autopilot that you forget if you even said thanks a little while later. But with me practically saving her life i extremely doubt its not gonna be genuine.

AYY, so what do you think of the new covverr? I really like it, mostly because of the lighting. I also updated some other stuff. And i keep thinking of just re-writing the beginning up to chapter 4 but when i have free time i'll do that so it probably won't happen soon. also i think this chapter is really short but i KNOW for a fact its 2000+ words but maybe that's just cause i got used to chapter 7 being so long? idk. i would like to write longer chapters if that's ok with the few people that read this. tell me which one you like more and i'll do it, if i get no comments i'll just choose
