COVID-19: Escaping Sector 9

What does it means to be dead? Is it when we are reminded that the red shouldn't be out of the body or when we feel that slight gut telling us the flame is about to go out and there was no hope saving it?The agonizing pain of not being able to breath, the coldness of the weather sinking in as you lay down paralysis. Not able to think but wait, what are we waiting for? Waiting for the light at the end of the tunnel? waiting for your life to flash between your eyes? or waiting for the feeling of regrets while looking through a list of unwished mistakes? They say death had many tools but these were his favourites.

As fast as i had closed my eyes at Brooklong hospital, it was open to a dark place.

My mind was still trying to configured what had happened to me as i tried to breath slowly, apparently my body had gotten used to the fact that am not dying anymore as it longed for air as though i was drowning. My head hurts but it was negligible compared to captivating thought in my head that brought a smile to my face,

Am alive?...AM ALIVE!!!!!

After a while of reminiscing about how i cheated death for the second time i slowly came back to reality.

Where am i?

I tried moving but later realized that my whole body was restricted from all motions a body posses except from tilting my head sideways. I tried struggling the more and the lights came up. I was in some kind of capsule with a big opening made of transparent white glass located at the top, directly opposite my face. But with all this it was as though the surroundings of the capsule was in pitch darkness as i couldn't see anything through the glass and then something amazing happened.

"What the hell!, who is there?" i voiced out but there was no reply, only that the black belts holding me down got tighter and i couldn't struggle anymore.

"Ahaw!!!" i yelled from the slight pain,

I didn't have time to react to all of this as a video came up on the glass, an old lady probably in her 60s appeared. She was sitting on an office chair, the background suggesting that she was staying close to the sea as i could see the sea eagles flying through the transparent window behind her. Her white suit with long blonde hair gave an authority figure vibe that stole my interest. A black cat on the table next to her seducing its owner with its cute meows and tail sticking to her cheeks made short walks around her before going to her side and licking its paws.

"Uhm...Welcome to sector 9, if you are seeing this then you are a survival of the CORONA VIRUS mostly known as covid 19. This is the final stage of your survival and we expect you to put in as much if not more than the effort you had put in the first stage. In the year 2019, there was an outbreak. The fast rate of infection and the slow rate of recovery convinced us that the virus was bent on ending humanity as we know it. When we thought there was no more hope, we discovered something. At critical stage of the virus, death was 99% but then those who managed to survive the virus at that stage seem to exhibit some peculiar...activities after a few weeks of recovery.
