Mikan sighed, staring at her phone, turning it off and on again as if she thought a message would magically appear. Of course, it won't, and Mikan knew that, yet still attempted it. The purple haired girl sat on her bed, sunshine leaking into her room from the small slits on her blinds. She got up, and got dressed, and started walking to her school.
Was Junko ignoring her? The thought was on her mind all day. Maybe Junko had a valid excuse. Junko refused to have Mikan talk to her at school. Mikan wasn't exactly popular after all, and Junko cared about her reputation.
"Maybe I'm just overthinking it..." Mikan mumbled to herself, staring at her shoes as she walked to school, as if she was calculating her steps one by one.
"Yeah, I probably am.." Mikan muttered to herself.
-this is a spacer-
Ibuki fiddled with her pen, struggling to focus. She felt curious about the message she had received. She didn't have feelings for Mikan, she t said she did in the heat of the moment. Her eyes darted to the corners of the classroom, as she thought about what she should do. Playing with someone's feelings was wrong.
Soon class ended and she was sitting underneath a tree, chewing and eating slowly, thoughts filling her head. Soon, a pink haired boy had come to talk to her once again. She looked up at him and gestured for him to sit down, a kind smile on her face.
"Hey Ibuki! Uh... are you still sitting alone?" The boy with you guys! Next time!" Ibuki answered, energetically, returning the boy's gaze.
"Okay! I'll be looking forward to it!" Souda replied, a smiling forming on his lips, Ibuki smiled at him and continued eating.
"Well, tell Ibuki what's going on in your life!"
"Okay, so there's this person...."
Ibuki listened to Souda's new friend... maybe crush, it reminded her of her feelings towards Mikan. Ibuki brushed it off, as she reminiscing her and Mikan's past conversations. She knew deep down, though.
"Oh my god, I like her, I like like her"
<owo another one, fun fact this was gonna be a kaede x tsumugi fic>
Mikan tapped her foot. Junko hasn't replied to her string of messages yet. She was anxious, thinking of what the reason was. Maybe she should approach Junko. No, Junko told her not to. Maybe Mukuro? Mikan just didn't know anymore. During the times she would be talking to Junko, she had switched it to Ibuki. Mikan wasn't going to lie, she preferred it like that.
She shook the thoughts off and focused on eating her lunch, thinking of Ibuki instead. She liked it this way, although she'd never admit it. She happily chewed at the thought of Ibuki, somewhat smiling the whole time.
The rest of the day flew by quickly, and ended with Mikan walking home, tears threatening to fall. Maybe Junko was busy. Maybe she was ignoring Mikan. Mikan didn't know and she kept thinking of it, trying to replace those thoughts with Ibuki.
She flopped down onto her bed, the sunlight soon shifting into an sunset-y colour. She laid down, messaging and talking to Ibuki all night. They made jokes about dating and being wives, Mikan would never say it, but that thought made her.. happy. She took her mind off Junko and decided to focus on Ibuki.
