Mark eyes the Donghyuk boy up and down, still wary about him.

"Who are you all?" The boy asks, his brow rising in wonder.

Jaemin whacks the back of Mark's head, stopping the older male from glaring too hard. "This is Mark, I'm Jaemin, and this is Jeno." He smiles softly to Donghyuk.

"Right...Well Mark, I kindly request that you talk and stop staring at me like a perv." He deadpans, a sickening grin slowly making its way onto his face.

Ignoring the comment, the Canadian asks his first question. "Do you know what happened?"

Donghyuk shakes his head, that painfully bright smile never leaving his face. "No fucking idea. All I remember is practically drowning in the ocean and then waking up on the beach." He sighs, shivering at the memory. "It...wasn't pleasant."

Jeno steps forward, now regaining his composure. "How long have you been on your own?"

"Since day one. You three are the only other people I've seen alive." Donghyuk looks to Jaemin, basically expecting the youngest boy to have a question himself.

Smiling, Jaemin walks up to Donghyuk, taking his arm gently. "You've been holding your wrist...does it hurt?"

"Oh...Uhm yeah..." Donghyuk raises it, sensing Jaemin's need to inspect it. Jeno and Mark share a look, before silently agreeing with each other to wander around the store for both food and Peelers. The soft voices of Jaemin and Donghyuk getting quieter.

"I fell down the other day, accidentally tripped over some torn basket." Donghyuk sighs, following as Jaemin made him sit down near the shopping carts. "I wasn't sure what happened though."

Jaemin nods, inspecting the wrist gently. "It just seems sprain. I have a brace in my bag, and as long as you don't overwork it, your wrist should be fine in 2 weeks." He reaches around to his satchel, taking out a generic wrist brace, slipping it on to Donghyuk's arm and tightening the straps. "Be careful with it. Is it your dominant hand?"

Donghyuk shakes his head. "No. I'm right-handed. Thanks, by the way."

Jaemin smiles warmly, standing once more. "It's my pleasure. Now, where did those two go...?" His eyes wander the store in search of the two black-haired boys.

"How long have you been with those two frogs?" The new boy's voice shaking Jaemin of his focus.

"Huh?"

Donghyuk points his chin in the direction of two silhouettes in the dairy section. "Rude and Ruder, how long have you been with them?"

Jaemin chuckles at the nicknames, making Donghyuk smirk proudly. "I met Mark around April 23rd, so about a week after it all happened –or so I'm assuming. We found each other in a hospital."

"Did you know him before?"

"Nope!" Jaemin cheerfully shakes his head. "Never met the two boys in my life. As for Jeno, me and Mark hyung found him in his car only about 4 days later." Jaemin shrugs gently. "And we've been wandering around since." He catches the eye of Jeno and waves the two boys over, smiling gently.

"Say...Jaemin..."

"Hmm?" Jaemin turns back to the boy sitting on the ground.

"How much have you three been eating?" Donghyuk eyes the honey-haired kid, who was a bit too thin for his liking.

Jaemin sighs when the other two finally come back. "Not a lot. None of us are super good cooks and we don't really have the supplies anyways."

His answer makes Donghyuk stand, a proud smile on his face. "I know a great restaurant down the street. The kitchen still works and it's where I make my meals. Come on." He gestures for the three boys to follow him. Jeno and Mark turn to Jaemin who just shrugs and smiles.

"Food is food."

Jeno warily trails behind Jaemin, Mark, and Donghyuk. He knew the guy was harmless, for Donghyuk hadn't given them any reason to not trust him. No, instead he was just a huge-ass brat. And it was slowly pissing Jeno off. Unfortunately for him, Mark seemed indifferent, more focused on their surroundings. And Jaemin was actually enjoying his talk with the new guy. 'Opposites attract I suppose.' Jeno sighs loudly, making the eldest boy look at him.

"You good?"

Jeno nods slowly. "Yeah..."

Mark pauses, waiting for Jeno to stand next to him and letting the other two boys move ahead. "You don't trust him?" Mark and Jaemin had found out early on that Jeno had an amazing first instinct. His gut feeling had gotten them out of many bad situations, and soon they would come to Jeno for the final decision.

Jeno shakes his head. "No, it's not that. It's just...he's overwhelmingly happy considering the circumstances."

"Hmm?" Mark raises a brow.

"Like," Jeno sighs. "Ok look at it this way. It's the end of the world, we don't know how long we'll live and yet this guy is just smiling like he just won the lottery. There's no fear in his eyes. It's kinda freaking me out, to be honest." He stuffs his hands in his pocket, watching Jaemin laughing lightly at something Donghyuk had said.

Mark snickers, covering his smile with his hand. "I guess, but-"

"Hyungs!" The two boys are brought back to see Jaemin waving them over. They stop their previous conversation and head towards the other two, who were standing in front of an abandoned restaurant.

Donghyuk turns so he was fully facing everyone, that bright smile back on his face.

"Welcome to my kitchen."
