Lucina's POV
The heroine would make her appearance soon, just like in the game. Almost everything in this world is just like the game, it's infuriating at times. Though, I've managed to find joy in watching the pieces dance.
This world is nothing but a collection of liars, that's the way it was made. The capture targets, the villainess, even the heroine they were all liars in the game, and even in reality. It was funny really.
I wasn't the villainess from the game, and yet nothing had changed. I was kind to my brother, but he still plotted to be rid of me. I attempted to befriend some of the capture target, but they didn't care. Nothing changed, nothing changed no matter what I did. Was I not quirky enough?Or was I too smart? Or could they tell that deep down I despised them.
Could they tell that I was overcome with the urge to cut them down like livestock? That I fantasized watching while they slowly died before me? That would be entertaining. I laughed to myself silently.
Today was the day the heroine would appear, I wondered about her a little. The heroine from the game was a pure and innocent girl who charmed the capture targets with her kindness, but throughout the game it's revealed that she was plotting the entire time to gain power. In the happy endings she falls in love for real and her and the capture target become better people. In bad endings she either kills the capture target or they kill her.
I was a big fan of her character back on earth, it was different from the other otome games. Unlike the truly pure heroines from other games, this one was truly a terrible person. I looked forward to seeing perfect performance as another piece on this board. She seemed like the type of person it would be fun to kill.
My expectations were shattered for the first time since I came this world. The heroine had started a fire in her classroom. It scorched the classroom and almost harmed several students. This was not an event from the game.
She had done it, she had changed the game already. From my reports it seems unintentionally, how peculiar. She certainly was brave to make herself a target knowing how dangerous this world is. One thing is for sure, Olivia Erem couldn't be from this world.
I confronted her about it at lunch, I expected her to feign ignorance or make up some excuse. But she admitted it to me immediately. She said she was a transmigrator. This Olivia Erem had been here for about 1 year, her eyes were clear. Ha she must still be unaware of what kind of world this is. Did she not play the game?
Later on she also admitted to not playing the game, really was she stupid? Did she think that I was trustworthy just because I was from earth, how foolish.
I talked to her a few more times and that impression only grew stronger. Olivia was obviously scared of me, but she refused to back down. I should be annoyed, but instead I found it amusing. She told me that didn't like to lie, I wonder how that will work out for her.
How will this small animal survive in a den of wolves? If she begs me for help, maybe I'll lend her a hand. She would have to be much more obedient though...
Olivia wasn't the only person acting weird, the crown prince, a capture target from the game was also behaving a little differently. He was a seemingly quiet man who had come to power by killing all of his siblings, he also had the king under his thumb. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that he was the most powerful man in the kingdom. Of course he would never be able to ascend the throne without the support of the three dukes of the kingdom. That was why he had arranged a marriage alliance between him and the Regis dukedom. The Regis dukedom was particularly important because of our control of the military.
The original Lucina was deeply in love with him, of course he exploited her until she had nothing else to give him. I had always looked forward to cutting him down when he tried doing such things to me.
but...Julius had started acting strange a few days ago. I had ran into him by chance, and I was scared. I was scared by him, his aura was unlike anything I had experienced before. Me? Scared, impossible...
Something about him made my instincts flare, he was dangerous and didn't have any fear of the consequences that would come with killing me. Was he really the same Julius from the game?
If he was a reincarnator then his actions didn't make any sense, he had lived just like the character until about a few days ago. Why was he suddenly not going to class and sleeping all day? Did he transmigrate like Olivia, but then why was his aura so terrifying?
It's frustrating that I can't just ask him... I'll just get one of my subordinates to do it. That's what I thought, but my subordinates came back crippled and without the ability to speak.
It's quite annoying, I'm not sure how I'm going to get the information out of him. Hopefully he won't get in my way.
To my surprise Olivia had been able to get some information out of him, but she wouldn't tell me. Infuriating, he's probably threatening her so she won't tell others. I guess I'll have to do the same if I want her to tell me anything.
Who could I take hostage...hmm, she just came to this world a year ago. I doubt she has many people she cares about in this world. This could get annoying.
At least things would be interesting for a while, though I would prefer if they went according to plan instead...
