Sam left late in the night, creeping down the halls as to not disturb the guards.

Celaena fell onto her bed, a ruby red flush spreading at her collarbones. She rolled over and hugged the pillows, her stomach filled with butterflies.

She hadn't felt like this in a long time. She hadn't let herself.

She fell asleep quickly, emotionally and physically drained from the days events, and slipped into her dreams.

Sam needed to know. He needed to know his true heritage. Sam was to inherit the Keep. Well, at least in Arobynn's eyes he was to. Arobynn didn't know that Celaena was in the competition.

What would happen if I told him?  Lysandra thought. Would she have to return to the Keep?

Lysandra frowned.

She would have to tell Sam somehow. He deserved to know. He wasn't the sort of person that liked to be kept in the dark.

Maybe I could get a message to him through Wesley, she pondered.

Maybe she could help Sam. If Sam lost this competition, he would have to go back to the Keep. which meant imminent death.

Death, or something worse.

Perhaps a truce with Arobynn would be worse.

It would be for Sam. He would rather die a million deaths than join hands with the man who endlessly tormented and tortured his lover.

So Lysandra started plotting.
